Makwe Masilela from Makwe Fund Managers chose Aspen as his stock pick of the day.

"I prefer Aspen, the guys have managed to reduce their debt and if you look at their leverage ratio which is sitting at almost 2.8 times which is comfortably below their confidence of 3.5%. I think going forward, even with the results on Thursday, Aspen should be telling us something that about the level they are now, and whatever they do supply there should be a continues demand when it comes to pharmaceuticals."

Robert Towell from Sasfin Securitries chose South32 as his stock pick of the day.

" We're looking atSouth32, you know they've got a very strong share buyback currently going on and their mix of metals is very good as well with nickel and alumina they've also got silver and as I said before, they are one of the only miners in SA where you can get access to silver."

Caroline Cremen from Adviceworx chose Zoetis Inc as her stock pick of the day.

"I'm going to something that really makes me feel good, it's a company called Zoetis. Now this is a 65 year old pharmaceutical company if you haven't heard of it before it was unbundled from Pfizer but it's pharmaceuticals of a different kind; they focus on animal health, livestock and also your companion animals. I would say that this is something that's relatively recession proof."

Nesi Chetty from Stanlib chose Equites Property Fund as his stock pick of the day.

"We like a company called Equities, I guess markets have run ahead of fundamentals in certain sectors and we think when you get this reversal back from let's call it cyclicals, and you get value back into growth this is a share that will be a big beneficiary of it."

Viv Govender from Rand Swiss chose S&P500 as his stock pick of the day.

"I'm choosing the S&P500 value index and what it gives you basically is exposure to the US market but with a significantly reduced exposure to the what I think may now be the overvalued US tech sector."

Imtiaz Suliman from Sentio Capital chose MTN as his stock pick of the day.

"I'm going with MTN I think what we're seeing coming out of MTN Nigeria today, is that they still doing very well and benefiting from the crisis in terms of data adoption and voice revenues accelerating quite significantly."

Andile Buthelezi from Sentio Capital chose Impala Platinum as his stock pick of the day.

"I am going to go with Impala Pla​tinum today and today's results is just an indication why we like the pgm miners for some time now. They are still generating quite a bit of cash, they have a strong balance sheet and we've got decent volume growth."

Steven Schultz from Momentum chose WBHO as his stock pick of the day.

WBHO is the pick, today I think the construction engineering company is currently trading at prices that were last seen in 2007 if I'm not mistaken. I think it's well known that the construction sector has been under pressure, they've also had some pretty unfortunate investments in Australia but I think at current valuations, with it's strong balance sheet, a great management team and if government starts infrastructure expenditure which hopefully we'll hear a little bit about on Wednesday, WBHO could be primed for recovery.

Graeme Franck from PSG Wealth Sandton Grayston chose Anglo American as his stock pick of the day.

"I'm just going to go for the boring old Anglos, I mean we've mentioned it a lot, it has platinum exposure, iron-ore exposure and it's a late metal diversified miner and come Thursday, I think is going to do very well."

Robert Towell from Sasfin Securities chose South32 as his stock pick of the day.

"My stock pick today, going back locally with South32. They came out with numbers today as well, we like their mix of commodities. They've got silver, it's one of the only ways you can get access in South Africa to silver, zinc and aluminium as well. We think that there has been a lag in the commodity space over the last year and a half and we think it's time for them to just start moving up. And they've got a very big buyback on the way."
