Caroline Cremen from Adviceworx chose Johnson & Johnson as her stock pick of the day.

"I'm going to pick a dividend aristocrat; Johnson & Johnson. N ow it is in the news mainly because of the vaccine rollout but, you one understand that's only a very small amount of cases, this vaccine is relatively good, it only requires one dose it is easy to transport, it's easy to store, they have a footprint in developing markets and this is still a quality company. It's not a vaccine story, it has multi-brands, multi-territories, a pharmaceutical division growing at 25% every year and also the thing that's going to actually pull this this company up in 2021 I believe is their medical devices segment."

Craig Pheiffer from Absa Stockbrokers & Portfolio Management chose Alibaba as his stock pick of the day.

"I've been looking at Alibaba it is one of the stocks in our global equity portfolio, we've been looking to increase that holding of late, just largely on the back of the valuation where it is now. They did have that 2.8 billion dollar fine come through this week and we saw the market jump up positively in response and investors like a bit of certainty."

Steven Schultz from Momentum chose Softbank as his stock pick of the day.

"My stock pick this evening is an offshore stock it's the Japanese Softbank, it's a Japanese multinational that effectively trades in Tokyo. It's a holding company with interest in technology, energy and finance and it has a great reputation for early start-up exposure through its very famous Vision Fund, the largest private equity fund in the world."

Imtiaz Suliman from Sentio Capital chose Old Mutual as his stock pick of the day.

"I'm going with Old Mutual is a quite a large company and they were impacted quite significantly from the hard lockdowns but, subsequently we've seen a rebound in consumer activity - the reopening of the economy. They've also made significant provisions for the Covid mortality deaths and I think if that comes in as expected in terms of their modelling assumptions you could see quite a significant release of those provisions as well as a the rebound in economic activity and they could make the earnings number that they did in 2019, two years out from now."

Data from the International Institute of Finance shows that foreign net flows to emerging market equity and debt portfolios slowed in March to their weakest in almost a year. Business Day TV's Alishia Seckam caught up with RMB’s Varushka Singh to discuss the factors that contributed to the slowdown.

Nick Kunze from Sanlam Private Wealth chose AB InBev as his stock pick of the day.

"We like AB InBev at the moment, if you've seen the pictures of the Brits being back at the pubs today, and they are back in the beer gardens, even though they're sitting in the snow. So as we start opening up as emerging markets finally get their vaccine rolls-out kicking off we like AB InBev for their exposure to emerging markets and at current levels around R950, I believe that offers value at the moment."

Martin Smith from Anchor Capital chose Alibaba as his stock pick of the day and David Shapiro from Sasfin Securities is looking at Luxury stocks like LVMH.

Smith said: "I've gone back and forward a little bit on this one but I think I'm going to say Alibaba. They are still looking incredibly cheap and it's going to be a bit volatile but I think there's going to be a couple of bumps along the way and I think it offers great value at these levels.Shapiro said: "I'm going for the summer of love, I think people are going to spend like mad and do some revenge spending as know as a vaccine roll out gather space and people feel more confident. I'm talking Northern hemisphere and I'm going for luxury, I think LVMH and companies like that are going to benefit from the spending."

Nesan Nair from Sasfin Securities chose Coronation as his stock pick of the day.

"I'm going with Coronation, trying to buy some of these financials that have been pulled back a little bit. Hopefully we'll know whether it's the right call in the next few weeks"

Nesi Chetty from Stanlib chose Investec Property Fund as his stock pick of the day.

"We like Investec Property Fund. It's one where the local portfolio is very defensive. If you look at rental collections in the pandemic it's been 94% in Europe and probably closer to 99% in SA. They're still maintaining a 95% payout ratio and we like the recycling into logistics into the European platform which has proven to be very resilient."

Graeme Franck from PSG Wealth Sandton Grayston chose Rio Tinto as his stock pick of the day.

"I'm going to go offshore, we just recently added Rio Tinto to our list offshore and the market is telling you that iron ore prices have run a little too hard. I know prices are at 80 percent in the last yearend I think that's why Rio's is trading on a PE of around seven times which is very very cheap."
