Born in Long Beach, California, Michael Wasick made the move to Boise, Idaho, nearly two decades ago to pursue his education at Boise State University. After graduating, he embarked on a successful real estate career, but his passion for fostering connections in the workplace led him to a new venture.
Three years ago, Michael founded Wobali, a company dedicated to enhancing employee engagement and well-being. Recognizing that many employees feel disconnected from their colleagues and undervalued by their organizations, he set out to create opportunities for teams to bond outside of work. By organizing enjoyable activities, Michael helps facilitate camaraderie and open communication among employees.
His innovative approach not only cultivates happier and healthier workplaces but also reduces turnover and boosts productivity, ultimately saving companies significant costs. With a focus on building meaningful connections, Michael is committed to transforming workplace culture for the better.
00:00 - 00:35 "We know that culture happens whether we want it to or not in companies, and so if you can do things like this to help shape the culture that your company has, that will then make happy campers, happy employees. Happy campers make happy employees. Happy employees can make happy customers.” — Rhea Allen

A former radio producer, journalist, and award-winning writer, Jen brings decades of storytelling experience to every show she touches. She’s worked with CBC, Roundhouse Radio, and the National Film Board of Canada’s Digital Studio. She’s written for theater, film, new media, and short fiction—and now brings that creative depth to brand content. She’s also a creative writing instructor at the University of British Columbia, where she teaches the next generation of podcast storytellers.
Jen leads the editorial vision behind JAR’s most successful shows, helping brands tell stories that are resonant, authentic, and audience- first. Whether she’s building out a narrative arc or pushing back on client ideas that won’t serve the listener, Jen’s focus is always on creating shows people actually want to hear.
00:00 - 00:42 " The other analytics that we sometimes look at is the podcast neighborhood. So, what other shows are people who listen to your show also listening to? And that can tell you a lot about the tastes of your audience. Like, if you make a business show, they're listening to other business shows. Oh, but look, there's also a strong contingent of your audience that's listening to, I don't know, true crime or faith-based shows or something like that. That can give you some insight into who you're dealing with and who you're talking to. And you can use that to inform the content to make it even more relevant to them.” — Jen Moss

I don't care what business you're in. You have to introduce yourself to new people at some point. The only way you're going to do it is either go meet them or pick up the phone.” — Kevin Downey

This week, Rhea Allen (Peppershock Media, The Marketing Expedition Community) had the pleasure of welcoming the Girl Scouts of Silver Sage to Poderific Studio. They dive deep into the world of Girl Scout cookies, exploring not only the entrepreneurial skills that young girls develop through the cookie program but also the broader impact of Girl Scouts on personal growth and community involvement.
00:00 - 00:48 "What's the number one impact that helps you sell the cookies the most? The thing that helps me sell the cookies the most is probably just asking people in general. Because if you don't ask, they don't know. So asking people is the number one way I sell my cookies. Yeah. Good. Good. You've got to ask.”
