Diarmuid Fitzgerald grew up in Ireland. He is a writer, teacher, healer and public speaker.
He writes poetry and has had three collections of poetry published by Alba Publishing (www.albapubishing.com) The books are called Thames Way (2015), A Thousand Sparks (2018) and The Singing Hollow (2021). Thames Way and A Thousand Sparks are haiku poetry while The Singing Hollow is regular poetry. His poems are on the themes of nature, LGBT life, body issues, exercise and personal growth pains. He has written a novel and got help to have this novel edited. He has put the novel to one side for the moment. He has won prizes, grants and awards.
He works as a teacher. Diarmuid is a licensed Reiki Healer and is trained in life coaching NLP. Diarmuid is passionate about using creative writing and he has taught creative writing workshops. He helps people find their inner voice. Diarmuid believes that creative writing can allow the soul to sing and to help heal deep wounds. He uses creative writing to look at the shadow aspected of himself and use that in a constructive way to help him heal and get work written. He also help writers scrub up their work to a level ready for publication.
Diarmuid identifies as gay and he uses his writing to express the feelings of this sometimes marginalised group. He took part in many campaigns to bring about greater equality. Diarmuid is dyslexic and he has used this to his advantage to using his creative powers to connect in with his guides and to write from a higher level. After experiencing rejection many times he learned how to craft his work and get published.
Diarmuid trained with Betty Cosgrave for NLP and Life Coaching, Patricia McLoughlin for Reiki, Joy Wisdom for DARE and Light Healing and Kim Calvert for personal development. Kim Calvert is the number 1 consultant with the Proctor Gallagher Institute.
Diarmuid is currently writing a book about healing through creative writing and will submit it to Hay House as part of a competition.
