Do always struggle to accomplish tasks or know yourself to be lazy? However, are you truly and categorically lazy or could there be a secondary emotion to this laziness? In this short podcast episode, I reflect on the relationship of procrastination, perfectionism and anxiety.

In this recording of my presentation, I briefly share our research on how religious identity affects the relationship between risky sexual behavior and life satisfaction. From the literature, studies have shown that risky sexual behavior has positive consequences on an individual due to feelings of satisfaction from their sexual experiences and elevated self-perception of empowerment and attractive self-image. However, an individual with a Catholic faith may experience cognitive dissonance and guilt when engaging in risky sexual behavior due to the moral teachings of the Church. With this, we examine the relationship amongst these three variables.

I invited Lisa, a freelance photojournalist to join me in this podcast episode. She shares her experiences from shifting courses coming from an Accounting program to Journalism during her university days. She also shares the challenges in becoming a female photojournalist- from safety concerns, harassment, and some financial struggles or other challenges she had experienced. Nonetheless, we talked about the fulfilling path that she took as a freelance female photojournalist in being able to life stories, societal issues, and important causes through her photos.

In this episode, I try to open-mindedly discuss the topic of Sex and Sex Positivity with my graduate school friend, Daniel. We are both pursuing our master’s degree in Clinical Psychology which harnesses our interest in the field of Sex Psychology- sexual disorders and porn addiction. All seriousness aside, this podcast episode is simply a not-so-wholesome, no-filter conversation (on BDSM, kinks) between two friends over a bottle of wine.

In this episode, I reminisce my solo-trip to Vietnam with a friend I met, Govind Rao. We started off with a quick catching-up session where we talked about the pandemic situation in India after the peak of the COVID surge. We then talked about solo-traveling- why we prefer to go alone, some tips, and experiences on our solo trip to Vietnam where we met in a tour at Ninh Binh province. We end with our future travel plans and an invitation for me to travel to the beautiful country of India.

In this episode, I invited my friend Nes to share her views and experiences of online dating. We explored how the pandemic and being physically isolated have paved the way for most individuals to engage in it. We also compared the different dating apps and platforms, and our experiences in each. Both being Psychology majors, some Psychological theories on attraction and as to why a lot of people seemed to have been more active into online dating in a pandemic have also been mentioned in this episode. 

In this podcast episode, I invited my good friends- Kat and Edu, to converse with me on our experiences of moving away from our families. We share stories of the kinds of persons we were before living independently, the transition (including the “Taft Life” in College), celebrating birthdays holidays alone, the Filipino culture of collectivism & being family-oriented, the pros and cons of living away from your family and survival tips. Listen to how these experiences helped us navigate our individualities and honed us to the person we are today.
