  • Squad Goals #38: You Can't Handle the Geth! (On Tali & Legion)
Nick, Chip, and Kurabara are back to continue their journey through the Mass Effect Legendary Edition. This week, they are finishing up the loyalty missions by finally visiting the Quarian Flotilla to help Tali, and the Heretic Geth station to help Legion.
First, they discuss the decision behind getting Legion so late and waiting for him to do Tali’s mission. Then, after a recap of the mission, they talk about the irony of bringing a Geth to a trial for bringing live Geth parts into the Flotilla. Nick praises Shoreh Aghdashloo’s performance as Shala’raan. They get into a lengthy discussion of Quarian pregnancies and population control. They talk about the council members that Shepard must interact with: Admiral Gerel, Admiral Koris, and Admiral Xen. They also discuss the ship names and some of the jokes that follow. They mention that Veetor and Kal’reegar from earlier in the game can reappear if you protected them.
Next, they head to the Alarai which is the ship where Tali’s father was performing his experiments with Geth technology. They talk about how much of the crew were able to leave final messages to their loved ones. They talk about their decision for what to do with Tali’s father’s research. They consider how Tali’s father was absent in her life. They talk about the different outcomes that can happen at the trial, including an outcome where Tali becomes bitter and depressed. They mention that Tali’s trial is just a proxy fight for the real decision which is how to engage with the Geth. They talk about the combat on the mission. Kura mentions that Claudia Black voices Admiral Xen. They talk about Xen’s decision to continue the experiments.
Next, they discuss Legion’s mission to stop the Heretic Geth. After a recap, they talk about how the mission involved destroying hubs to stop the Geth. Chip goes deep on AI theories and insists that Geth are people. Nick compares the Geth to the Protheans. He also comapres the virus to indoctrination. They talk about how the Geth learned to lie and how that is a problem. They talk about the massive info dump that Legion’s stories are. They compare their decisions for how to handle the Heretic Geth. They talk about the Tali-Legion conflict upon returning to the Normandy, and learn some neat facts about Soveriegn.

  • The Tauren & The Goblin #142: The Biggest Scrubs of Shadowlands (feat. Cyrub & Projali)
Nick and Katie are back to talk about the Warcraft story and this week they’ve got Cyrub and Projali from Scrubs vs. the World joining them! They begin with Scrubs explaining why they put their show on hiatus and what prompted them to return.
Next they talk about the upcoming release of Patch 9.2 and the new Zereth Mortis zone. They talk about what they are most excited for in the patch. Projali is excited for the new Sepulcher of the First Ones raid. They talk about how mythic raiders will have to determine how to handle the fact that the last three bosses will not be available prior to the mythic raid opening. Cyrub talks about how WoW has been missing surprise moments due to datamining and looks forward to some surprises in this new raid format. They talk about their experiences when they learned that Sargeras stabbed the planet as a point of comparison. This leads to a chat about the physics of planetary rotation with a sword sticking out. They move on to talking about the Sylvanas fight and how her health value was perceived by the community when she was first encountered. Projali shares a theory that Anduin was supposed to be the boss of the original 9.2 raid, and the Jailer was supposed to be the boss of the raid that should have been in 9.3. Nick asks about locking rid content behind story chapters. Cyrub compares the new raid to Ulduar. They talk about running bleeding edge content and discuss the new Protoform Synthesis crafting.
Next, they talk about who the biggest scrubs in Shadowlands are. Cyrub suggests Pelagos, which leads to a discussion about the Kyrian Covenant as a whole. Katie mentions Garrosh but nominates Denathrius because he gets stuck in his own sword. Nick wonders if that isn’t actually genius. Projali consides Meuh’zala, who got played by Bwonsamdi. They get sidetracked talking about everyone on Azeroth needing eyeglasses. Nick brings up Anduin but then settles on Sylvanas for getting worked over by the Jailer.

  • WoW! Talk! #206: On Zereth Mortis
Nick, Rei, and Harv are back to talk about their experiences in Patch 9.2! First, Rei talks about everything she’s been doing. With the deadline for AoTC Sanctum of Domination imminent, Rei reports that they had a full twenty-five people show up for raid for the first time in a long while. Eric was one of those showing up and he got AoTC! Then, she talks about the puzzles in Zereth Mortis and how some people are using add-ons to solve them. Nick then talks about his appreciation for the puzzles and they talk about how the Nazjatar match-three and uncrossing puzzles are back as well. Rei brings up that people are doing rares again in Zereth Mortis, and then talks a bit about some of the jumping puzzles. Nick asks about solving a jumping puzzle near Haven, and then they discuss when flying is coming. Rei mentions skipping the intro to Zereth Mortis on alts, and Nick points out that if you have an alt that needs renown it is a great way to get it. He also mentions an NPC that sells up to rank 40 renown in Oribos for 500 g.
Harv, meanwhile, has not really been playing WoW.
Nick talks about how much he is enjoying Zereth Mortis and how he likes the Firim character and how this feels like the Covenant he would have wanted to join all along. He also talks about how his kid has made too many characters in WoW and is messing up his login screen.
In the news, the Blizzard Gear store is back. The SEC is widening its investigation into Activision Blizzard, and Microsoft entered talks to buy Activision Blizzard only three days after news about Bobby Kotick’s offenses broke.
Finally, we look back at episode 106 and our thoughts on bounty hunting.

  • SITREP Happy Hour #44: Still A Masterpiece
Pull up a stool, charge your glasses and get comfortable as Happy Hour Episode 44 is here for your listening pleasure. That’s right – Mike, Rob, Luke and Brad are back for more podcast-based shenanigans, with alcohol aplenty. For this episode the lads spend half of the episode talking about what they have been watching and playing recently. Mike has been playing Elden Ring. Rob has been enjoying the new Destiny 2 content. Luke, surprisingly, has been playing Escape from Tarkov and Brad has started Horizon Forbidden West. For the second half of the podcast the lads chat about Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy, ahead of the reboot of the franchise with the impending release of The Batman. This is a trilogy that Luke has held close to his heart for many-a-year and has said as such on more than a few of the Happy Hour podcasts. For this episode though the 4 of them wax lyrical about just how strong those movies are. Like what you hear?
