  • Squad Goals #36: Lawnmower Rain Man (On Project Overlord)
Nick, Chip, and Kurabara are back to continue talking about their playthrough of the Mass Effect Legendary Edition! This week, they talk about their experience playing the Project Overlord DLC. First, they recap the story. Then, Kura mentions the World War II connections between the names Overlord and Normandy. Chip talks about how the mission affects your War Resources for Mass Effect 3. They talk about why you should do this after Firewalker, as it assumes you are familiar with the Hammerhead. Kura didn’t care for the directional arrow that was supposed to help while traveling around.
They talk about the horror elements of the game, including the weird AI screams and the eyes that track Shepard. They talk about how David and Gavin both have VI in their names. Nick goes into the Greek mythology behind he station names. They go over the mission at the Prometheus station and how the Geth are visible on your journey in so you know what you’ll have to face on the way back. Chip talks about how the concept of David being trapped in the machine is similar to Lawnmower Man. They consider the torture David was put through by his brother, and they evaluate how they handled David’s fate. They also talk about how when Shepard interacts with the VI, it is like the Matrix. The conclude by evaluating the value of the DLC.
Next, they talk about the Infected Mech questline, which Chip appreciated for the opportunity to endlessly kill mechs. They also talk about Robot Indoctrination.
They also talk about the MSV Estevanico mission and how Shepard should not be out on such a hazardous mission.
Finally, they talk about the Reaper indoctrination mining colony mission, and how it just leads to Shepard fighting more husks.

  • Lightkeeper Protocol #22: Sunfall and the Rustwash
On this episode we talk about the Rustwash and the remaining side quests coming out of Sunfall and Shadowside. The Rustwash is an appropriate area to banish the Shadow Carja. Very dry, very flat, very hot. Its no wonder the Carja in Shadow lost strength and numbers after losing Meridian.
We'll work with a disgraced doctor to help a little girl, help Vanasha save an innocent man, and also help Itamen escape the Citidel and the Shadow Carja.

  • The Tauren & The Goblin #141: On (Eliminating) the Faction Divide
Nick and Katie are back this week to talk about the announcement of Cross-Faction raiding coming in Patch 9.2.5. Katie first references an old Illegal Danish video, and then they get into talking about the factions.
They talk about the animosity between the factions and the announcement that Cross-Faction grouping will be optional, so rest assured the factions are sticking around. Katie mentions her faction pride. They talk about their own chances of cross-faction raiding, and reminisce about when they were in the same Alliance guild as a worgen and night elf. They talk about how the factions are unable to communicate in game, which prompts Nick to come up with an April Fool’s idea. Katie responds by suggesting they should be recording in Taurahe and Goblin.
They then recall the Mists of Pandaria cinematic, and review how the human and the orc worked together to fight the Chen. They also talk about Jaina and Thrall as the original representatives for crossing the faction divide to work together. Nick theorizes that the faction leaders serve more as diplomats and therefore must be on more peaceful, personal terms with each other, whereas the general populace is free to hate the other faction. He cites Garrosh being loved by the Orc populace while regarded as an asshole by the players and most faction leaders we dealt with. Jaina and Tyrande also fill similar roles.
Next they talk about the viability of travel for the average Azeroth citizen, and mention the Blood Elf tourists in Zandalar. They talk about Baine appearing in Stormwind, and Nick wants to see a full retinue of Kodos parading into Stormwind. They talk about how the end of Battle for Azeroth is when this feature should have been introduced, but better late than never.
Finally, we respond to an email from CPTGriner. Katie gets into her characters’ backstories and Nick wants to see Draka babysit her grandkids and the Ember Ward turned into a beach.

We'll help a man get back to his wife, help the people of Freeheap, and find out why Glinthawks keep attacking pitchcliff.

  • WoW! Talk! #204: On Cross-Faction Raiding
Nick, Rei, and Harv are back and boy do they have a lot to talk about! Since they last recorded, Microsoft bought Activision Blizzard, Cross Factoin raiding was announced, and the New York Times bought Wordle! But first, Rei talks about what's been going on with Order of Corrupted Souls.
Rei talked about working on Fatescribe with different groups. She also talked about watching raid log videos with a friend and trying to understand what was wrong. She also talked about how one of the tanks she was playing with was not joining the group discord, meaning they were not in communication, and that went about as badly as expected. She also talked about pugging with someone with a New York accent.
Harv, meanwhile, has played some Diablo III and not much else.
Nick talks about bringing his five year old through Firelands and getting the Harvester's Dredwing when Harv was not online. He also talks about the Wen Lo mount and how marvelous it is.
In the news, Harv and Rei finally get the opportunity to weigh in on the Microsoft acquisition of Activision Blizzard. They talk about their guarded optimism and how time will tell if this was a positive change. Nick also brings up the changes to Tier Set Tokens, as well as the Double Legendary Acquisition in Patch 9.2. Flying in Zereth Mortis will be easier to get, and Blizzard has outlawed mass advertising in the chat channels.
Nick also reviews what has been going on with Raven QA and their unionization attempts.
For the question of the week, Nick is soliciting advice on the quickest way to grind anima.
Finally, they look back at episode #104, which was the 2018 April Fool’s episode.
