It's been a busy week in the Overwatch League with a ton of player movement, huge upsets and more to cover. We open with our 2 highlight games, Philadelphia Fusion/New York Excelsior and Washington Justice/Boston Uprising. We give some special attention to 2 of this week's more noteworthy games and break down the plays and performances behind the final results. From here, we go on to this week's news, covering a signing from the Outlaws, retirements from players and staff around the league, and the return of a fan favorite brand to Overwatch Contenders.

Next, we recap all of the action from Week 6 in OWL. We go over the biggest plays, player performances, and more from each game. Afterwards we preview the coming week in Overwatch League, highlighting which games we're specifically excited to watch.

We wrap up with a discussion of Overwatch 2's announcement regarding the switch to 5v5, what that means for OWL tank players, and how this pushes the evolution of the game.

In this episode of Double Tap, Crashtag and StaticGorilla have a lot of updates to get through and start off in the Fighter's Corner with the announcement of Power Rangers Battle For the Grid, Super Edition. Then, from the Red Bull Kumite event, we got a sneak peek at the features of Guilty Gear Strive and exibition matches, Tekken 7's online challenge Season starts soon and Harada has a show called Harada's Bar that we highlight. In Street Fighter V, there was a surprise balance patch and we check the results of the South America CPT results and the SFV Redbull Kumite results, followed by the announcement trailers for Ralf and Clark in KOF XV. In the Randoms of the FGC, Blazing Strike is announced, BBTAG Fan Patch is made, and we look a the FGC Anniversary week 21. Finally in the Focus Attack, we cover the new Fighting Game Glossary.

Nick, Chip, and Kurabara are back and they finally have had a chance to play Mass Effect: Legendary Edition! They jump right into it with Chip talking about how he was able to compare this to the prior game since he just played Mass Effect a few months ago. They talk about how the game looks better and for Chip it felt a bit like coming home. Kurabara also enjoyed the graphics updates and also liked how the elevators seemed to work better and smoother. They also talked about how the gunplay was changed since it was easier to aim and weapons weren't as restricted by class. Nick complained that his vanguard is doing too much sniping. Nick also talked about how he was disappointed he was automatically given one point in charm and intimidation and already he's had some interactions that were limited in how he could address them. They also talk about the handling of the Mako and Chip mentions the XBox bug where they game will not start with a wireless controller connected.

Finally, they get into the story. After a recap of our introduction to Shepard and the Normandy, the squad talks about their selections of background: be it lone survivor, war hero, or ruthless. They talk about how everyone reacts to you differently and later on you'll even get quests about those choices. They talk about how awesome Doctor Chakwas is and how Corporal Jenkins is set up for doom. They also consider Nihlus as a spectre, and discuss the distress signal from Eden Prime.

Next, after some narration about the mission on Eden Prime itself, they get right into Jenkin's death. They talk about Ashley joining the crew and how Chip butted heads with her. They also talk about the introduction of Saren and Nihlus' end. Chip enjoyed fighting his way up the train. No one liked the vision that Shepard received, not because it was of death and destruction but because it was a poor narrative device. Everyone is looking forward to next time when we head to the Citadel.

Nick is joined by Dracoris and Sirithe from the LFR podcast to talk about the juicy spoilers coming in Patch 9.1. First, Dracoris and Sirithe talk about why they started LFR and how they approach the lore. Nick talks about how he enjoys their character-centric approach.

Then, the trio get into the spoilers. They begin by talking about the recent sighting of a Kirin Tor crow that implies that Khadgar may be showing up soon. This transitions into a discussion of Odyn's involvement with respect to Helya, and a debate about who will be the Lord of Ravens when it comes time to turn the key.

The trio get into how Elune is revealed as the Winter Queen's sister when Tyrande's Night Warrior powers are addressed. We find out that Huln Highmountain was also a Night Warrior and Nick is excited that we see that famour Tauren again.

Next they discuss Uther and his role in uniting the Kyrian faction. They debate if Arthas will show up, which he does, but only in memories so far.

They also talk about the long awaited Thrall and Draka reunion as spurred on by the reveal that the Primus is the Runecarver.

Finally, they talk about the role that Dreadlords will play in the patch and how they are all serving at the behest of Denathrius. We find out what happened to cause the Light to invade Revendreth and the group debates whether Lothraxion is truly light-forged or a spy.

Kurabara is out this week but Deathsquad is back and is joining Edanar on Clan of Three to talk about the latest episode of Star Wars: The Bad Batch. This weeks episode is The Replacements which shows the start of the empire phasing out Clone Troopers and going with conscripted regular soldiers. On a different side of the galaxy our Bad Batch has to make a crash landing and repair their ship with some electric eating dragons.

So a whole lot of Fanfest happened. We're still processing all the fun and news (and fun) from the 2021 Fan Festival. We've got a roving band of brides, plenty of bunny boy chat, and our thoughts on getting outplayed again by Yoshi-P on the second new job. Plus a whole lot of other reactions and thoughts on a jam-packed weekend of XIV fun!

Crashtag and StaticGorilla are back for another episode of Double Tap! In the Fighter's corner, Leona's character trailer is revealed and Samurai Shodown reveals a new character, Shiro Tokisada Amakusa and announces a release for Steam. Then, CPT Asia results are in, Intel World open registration started and Mortal Kombat 11 receives a patch notes. In a short Randoms of the FGC, Crashtag finds a cool vintage video game archive site. Then in the Focus Attack, fresh off of the Guilty Gear Strive Beta, we give our impressions about the gameplay and the new online features.

We've got a ton of news to cover this week as we move out of the May Melee tournament season and into the June Joust. We begin with a look at several news stories from around the league, as several teams announced new signings. We go further into how the additions affect each team's prospects for the rest of the season, and discuss how the new moves will likely affect team strategies.

Next, we break down all of the key information for the 2nd tournament of the season, the June Joust. We discuss the important changes regarding tie-breakers as well as the new map pool for the coming weeks. We then cover the implications of this stage's Hero Pool eliminations and what they mean for the metas we're likely to see. We wrap up with a brief look ahead at next week's games and discuss the strength of schedule for some of OWL's premier squads.
