I know that so many of us have had life altering experiences with death, grief and loss - the desire is to just get through it all as smoothly as possible but what often goes wrong, is that we overlook the necessity of being vulnerable when it comes to our healing.
So often, we feel like we can’t talk about grief but it’s actually so overwhelming and so detrimental to not actually share your experiences!
Over the past week - with the sudden death of my beloved nana, Marlene, I’ve been going from wanting to speak out about her and my experience, to talking myself out of my pain and suffering - and telling myself that I’m not worthy of my any of it being heard on this podcast. It’s also been hard to actually string sentences together (my brain is currently frazzled).
If you’ve ever lost anyone and struggled with feeling unworthy - or you’re stuck in a cycle of grief - then this episode is for you!
In this episode, I’m sharing with you:
* The struggle and overwhelm I’ve had to learn to get over, due to the loss of my dad in high school; my grandad in my first year of university and now my nana (who was like my mum), just last week
* Why & how these experiences of loss have imprinted on my adult life
* How the feeling of unworthiness around loss can be reshaped into feeling powerful
* How to create positive meaning from your own grief by doing things like yoga, meditation and affirmations
I hope you all receive this episode with an open mind and warm heart. It’s not intended to be triggering or upsetting to anyone - it’s part of my healing process and grief work.
It’s also my final farewell and thank you to my Nan - who I hope is resting in eternal peace with her son, my dad.
