Vision Quest turned 40 this year, and Matthew Modine joins to talk about the movie that changed his life, and the course of his acting career. He talks about playing Louden Swain, the impact that Madonna & “Crazy For You” had on the film’s success, and influence the movie had on UFC’s Dana White. He also shares some great stories from Full Metal Jacket, including beating out Val Kilmer for the role of James T. “Joker” David, the best direction he got from Stanley Kubrick, and helping his friend Vincent D’Onofrio land the role of “Pyle.” Matthew talks doing his own stunts on Cutthroat Island, having giant cockroaches dumped on his face multiple times during the filming of Pacific Heights, and being recognized as “Papa” from Stranger Things in a tiny, remote Italian town.
