I've recently written a musical called 'Family Ties' and this is one of the songs. It is played and sung by James Gladson who also helped me with the lyrics and arranged my melody.

I welcome feedback as I believe that it is the only way to develop songwriting skills.

I wrote this song after listening to the stories on Remembrance Sunday of a mother who had lost a son and a father who had lost a daughter. I am not a singer or a performer. I am in fact looking for a singer with a strong voice to record this song. My intention is to raise money for the armed forces benevolent fund that helps those injured in service or the families of those who have lost their lives. Please contact me if you are interested.

I sang this before I wrote it and at first thought I was going to sing a well known TV theme tune but I never know where my songs are going until I stop singing or writing. This is sung by Louise Spade who has a beautiful voice.

This is the sad but true story of my life. From 16 - 58 years old I busied myself with family and running Cub Scouts, and made excuses never to sing. However since I started writing songs at 58 I have found singers to sing my lyrics and play my melodies.
