On this weeks Media Obscura Podcast, Nick and Mike check out Elvira: Mistress of the Dark! Released in 1988, the movie follows the cult TV horror hostess as she deals with her worst adversary yet... Suburbia! Oh, and there's also a lot of repressed old folks and a crazy plot involving dark magic, witches, and a poodle with a killer mohawk.

Nick and Mike check out the Weird Al vehicle UHF on this weeks Media Obscura Podcast! It's a movie about a lad named George Newman, played by Weird Al, getting the deed to a TV station from his Uncle after winning it in a poker game. Along the way, he meets a slew of colorful characters such as a newscaster played by The Nanny herself, Fran Drescher, a Janitor played by a pre-Kramer Michael Richardson, and a man with an uncanny resemblance to Doctor Emmet Brown played by Anthony Geary.

This... Is... An episode we're really excited about! On this weeks Media Obscura Podcast, Nick and Mike checked out the Sam Raimi classic, Army of Darkness! I know, I know, "bUt GuYs, ThIs IsN't ObScUrE!"

Nick and Mike tackle the 'worst film of all time,' Plan 9 From Outer Space! Nick also builds an AI version of his faithful co-host that... Well, it's got a couple bugs it needs to sort out. They also talk about the probability of alien life and Nick's long gestating stage adaptation of Plan 9 From Outer Space.

Nick and Mike check out "The Fearless Freaks," a documentary about the history of the cult psychedelic rock band, The Flaming Lips! 

They also talk about the profound effect that the band had on Nick growing up, giant rubber ducks, and being awesome.

It looks as if Nick and Mike are mixing things up this week! They're sitting down and checking out a slew of obscure/retro commercials that include: Budweiser's 'Wazzup' ad, Wendy's classic "Where's the beef" campaign, a bunch of 'call now' infomercials, and other ads that involve selling stuff to people.

In this weeks Media Obscura, the Bergen Boys check out the animated adaptation of the movie adaptation of Jim Carrey's adaptation of the graphic novel/comicbook, The Mask! 

Nick also grumbles about Mike ruining his birthday while Mike gets his heart broken... By Nick.
