So close your eyes,


And let yourself settle into your favorite sleeping position. 


Maybe even letting yourself stretch or move, 


Releasing any lingering discomforts, tension or energy in your body.


Take a big, deep breath in,


Breathing in fresh, soothing air,


And as you exhale, let your body melt even further into your bed.


PAUSE…


Feel the rhythm of your breathing,


In and out,


Expanding and contracting,


Cooling and warming.


Let your breathing slow down your mind,


Slow down your body,


And relax.


PAUSE…


It’s time to sleep, my love.


Time to rest and restore your body,


Mind,


And soul.


So let yourself drop even further into the comforts of your bed,


And begin your journey into dreamland.


PAUSE…


See if you can imagine the gentle touch of invisible hands underneath you,


Slowly lifting your body off of your bed,


And into the quiet of the night.


PAUSE…


The invisible hand dissolves away,


And you can feel your body floating,


Completely weightless,


Safely hovering among the peaceful clouds. 


PAUSE…


Let your head gently fall back into the cotton clouds,


As your body and mind release their need to attach,


And hold on.


You can let go.


You can let yourself float here.


Weightless,


Safe,


And free.


PAUSE…


Drop your shoulders,


Relax your face,


And let your arms drift apart.


PAUSE…


Let your stomach soften and release,


Let your legs slowly roll apart,


And your feet and toes relax.


PAUSE…


Be here in the clouds,  


As they wrap themselves around your weightless body,


And take you with them on their slow dance through the sky.


Floating,


And gracefully painting with their white strokes.


PAUSE...


Rest now, beautiful,


As you float around the world,


And into the comforting arms of deep sleep.
