Today our special guest is Patrick Bentz. Patrick is a longtime friend of mine. I stood at his wedding, and he stood in mine. All to say, he’s a stand-up guy. But even more than that, he holds a bachelor’s degree in Communication and runs a media production company of his own. Before that, he worked with huge household brands like 3M, Cargill, and Home Depot, to name a few, creating advertising ads.
In this episode, we ponder the question, “Is this the worst time in American history?” Patrick has a unique perspective from the years he spent living in Kenya as a missionary and growing up in a small town in Wisconsin. So without further ado, Patrick Bentz. Enjoy, and thanks for listening!
Today's special guest is Godfrey Mpetey. Godfrey is an 18' graduate with a Bachelor's degree in Communication from my alma mater, Bethel University. From star defensive lineman to corporate America, Godfrey currently works as a Communications Specialist for one of the US's major financial institutions. Listen as we unpack why proximity to whiteness and ignorance is one of the most intriguing places to be.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Communication with an emphasis in relational studies. She is a graduate student working towards her Master of Arts in Counseling, where she’ll soon become a licensed counselor. She’s worked in Human resources for the past 4 years, managing hiring processes for major corporations like JP Morgan Chase, Mcdonalds, and Johnson & Johnson. She also happens to be my hero. She is my wife of 4 years and the mother of my child.
Today’s episode is titled Are We What We Say?. The conversation is based around again one of those fundamental principles I think that we lack as a society. And that is this idea that you know we all communicate differently. And it seems to me that many of the times in society and just everyday life, we talk at each other and not to each other.
What’s up. My name is Tim Hunt, and you are listening to the Meet Me in the Middle podcast. I am a 27-year-old African American police officer, father, and husband.
I created this podcast because I believe some of the biggest things we lack in society are tolerance, patience, and empathy. My hope behind the podcast is to engage with people from a multitude of backgrounds and disciplines in hopes of gaining perspective. Some of our conversations will be heavy, and we’ll challenge the way we think about things. And some of it will be light. We’ll talk about everything from police-community relations to marriage to fatherhood.
I’m not a guru, and I don’t know everything. But I hope that you’ll take this journey with me and Meet Me In the Middle.
In episode 1 of this 4 part series, we talk about empathy. While you've probably heard the word before, I think the lack of this is one of the root causes behind many of the world's fundamental issues. Listen as I give my insight on how I believe learning and practicing empathy can be transformative.
