Jarf is a fan of Kelly Kapoor. But he’d never want to be friends with someone who acted like her. So perhaps its because Mind Kaling took that role and transformed it into a memorable character that he finds her so endearing. But then is that still the character or a behind-the-scenes anecdote? See what Jarf thinks as he shares the contents of Kelly Kapoor’s Office Directory. That … and Tim goes off topic ... sort of.

Science fiction depicts all sorts of tomorrows, from dystopian futures to interstellar federations. But what to call these stories when they suddenly reflect the exact moment you’re reading them in? Its the sort of Space-Time conundrum that podcaster Jarf Harden experienced via an overdue anthology from his local library. So reverse the polarity of that neutron flow and focus on what he has to say about N.K. Jemisin’s 2004 short story “Too Many Yesterdays, Not Enough tomorrows.”

Thank you Canada, for Catherine O’Hara, X-Files exteriors and taking back Sum 41. Amidst all those wonderful import/exports, you also managed to smuggle in Quebec-born diva, Celine Dion. And while many of us have spent 22 years trying to get that boat song out of our head, performer Marianne Bayard recently embraced her as more than an ear-worm. In fact, she's translated this later-in-life admiration into a caricatured impression for her stage act. So maybe think about the theme from Up Close and Personal and see if that helps you focus on what Marianne has to say about this.

Can't afford a personal trainer? Got more of a VHS-tape-from-the-local-thrift-store type budget? Well what if I told you there was a way to combine those two sentences into one work out regime? Such was the pitch that peaked Marianne Bayard's early 90s interest. And while the funds were her mother's, the tapes were none other than the well-coiffed squat thrusts of Tony Little. So grab the Sunny D and sweat through her take on this infamous infomercial guru.

For shut-ins with a Sham-Wow affliction, there is no better fix than QVC. This round the clock network has been hocking quality value convenience since the mid 80s. But amidst all its book ends, earrings and seasonally affected napkin holders, stand on-air personalities balancing rampant consumerism with spotlight companionship. As seen on TV, these hosts sold a young MARIANNE BAYARD on the value of performance. And as a mental purchase, this inspiration led to her to starring roles on stage, in film and near tv.

As High Schoolers we sought big screen representation on how we lived our lives. Whichever matinee we attended guaranteed an escape into the soundtrack, fashion and particular mindset of our designated cliche. But what might be found by venturing outside that marquee demographic? Is it possible you could spot similar points of reference. Or would every close-up be an unrecognizable face? Author Kevin Smokler found it to be a little of both the the day he took his High School self to screen the 1990 Hudlin Brothers comedy HOUSE PARTY. So forget the Sno-caps and grab a seat up front for what he has to say about this.

Navigating a single concert can be an effort, even when skipping the opening act. So how does one maneuver a full day of renowned headliners? Well, if its the 90s, you grind you teeth through an actual LIVE performance and buckle down ‘till ELASTICA takes the stage. But what if there was some unspoken etiquette to make that music going experience a little more melodic? Author Kevin Smokler may have figured something out while in crowded attendance of the 1990 World Of Music And Dance Arts Festival. So skip that concession stand and turn your attention back toward what he has to sing about this.
80s Drag culture was an alien fantasia of gender bending costumes and unearthly dance moves. But for the curious eyes of a young Kevin Smokler, such spectacles seemed fleeting, within the confines of a family tv set. Fortunately, the 1990 documentary PARIS IS BURNING provided a more open window into that very world. So don’t just stand there, let’s get to it, strike that pose and listen to this.
You can’t spell podcasting without D-I-Y (providing you got your letters from IKEA … as there’s always SOMETHING left over). But prior to anyone owning an Ipod, most creative pursuits seemed so far out of reach. That is until a counter jockey from Jersey made his vulgar debut. Filmmaker, podcaster and all around public persona Kevin Smith began his career as the indie darling of do-it-yourself cinema. And without that ramshackle effort of 1994’s Clerks, Molly Bailen may not have pursued her creative path. So forget Navy Seals and check out what she has to say about this.
