A drunk mother, autistic brother, and a crush on the girl next door are just a few of the things that keep him up at night. But when he decides to interview a War Veteran that was convicted for the rape and murder of a 14-year old girl 30 years ago for his English class, Joe finds out the true meaning of too much to handle. This story has suspense, twists with every page and some nice life lessons sprinkled throughout.

'People we meet on vacation' by Emily Henry, tells the story of two college friends (Poppy and Alex) and their 12-year vacation-based-friendship. Their last adventure took them all the way to Croatia, where an event occurred that ended the duo's relationship. Now, two years after Croatia, Poppy is determined to bring her friendship back with Alex, but how? As a classic platonic-turned-romance book, this book has all of those gossipy topics one would hope to find in this genre: Love, tears, laughs and a little bit of the past lingering around to make things just a bit juicer.

We discuss the plot of this book and dive deep (maybe too deep?) into the themes and events that culminated in this book's ending. We talk about what we really thought of Poppy's character, some changes we would make to the book and where we think this book ranks among the newbie authors that we've read recently?
