Many people risk RAW SEX knowing they are not ready to have a child, and in some cases that UNPROTECTED SEX leads to a PREGNANCY. In the past the man & woman would often decide to MARRY, but today more will opt to CO-PARENT or decide on ABORTION. In the event fo the latter, the man may want the child, but if the woman decides to get an ABORTION the man gets no choice in the matter. When the situation is reversed and she wants the child, but he wants her to abort the child the man can still be legally be forced to pay CHILD SUPPORT after the baby is born. Should a woman demand the man to take care of the child, despite his desire not to be in the child's life? What if she stops taking her pill and had the baby in hopes of maintaining a relationship with the man? Should women change their expectations and avoid sex with these types of men? Or should boys and men accept the consequences and responsibilities of their decision to have careless sex? MENTAL DIALOGUE asking the questions America's afraid to ask. ALL I ASK IS THAT YOU THINK
Often in dating, BLACK MEN are warned to avoid BLACK WOMEN with deep seeded DADDY ISSUES, especially if those issues stem from the abandonment of their father during their childhood. Our special guest, DR. TIFFANY KING, spent years contending with the sporadic involvement of her father in her life, and eventually had to regularly attend THERAPY to deal with those issues. She was an honor roll student, a high school star athlete, and received full scholarships to attend college and eventually went on to get her DOCTORATE IN PSYCHOLOGY. With all her academic and professional success, she continuously dealt with the idea that her father in his sporadic absence didn't seem to fully acknowledge her. The lack of father validation made her relationship with men difficult, but after years of therapy, she eventually met her now husband of 18 years, DR. HIRESHEMO CLARK (also in psychology) and they are now successfully raising two boys together in their home. We ask DR. CLARK about dating TIFFANY in the early years and having to overcome her TRUST ISSUES. We ask DR. KING what did her husband do in the beginning to aid her in trusting him, and how much did THERAPY help her to get to that point? Even after marriage did any of her DADDY ISSUES show up, and if so, how did they deal with them? MENTAL DIALOGUE asking the question America's afraid to ask. ALL I ASK IS THAT YOU THINK
Are some BLACK PEOPLE so WOKE and so miserable that they look to CANCEL other BLACK PEOPLE no matter what they do? Do some keep it so hood that anything other than "KEEPING IT REAL" gets rejected. Is NEGATIVITY & MEDIOCRITY par the course for some AFRICAN AMERICANS? Does this influence and way of thinking need to be purged from the BLACK COMMUNITY? Special Guest, SHON HYNEMAN, host of It's Scary To Remarry drops by to discuss DATING after a DIVORCE for MEN & WOMEN. Ending a MARRIAGE is usually never an easy decision. and for MEN & WOMEN who still desire companionship, the available DATINGmarking is sometimes one of the main considerations before divorcing. For some MEN a divorce can sometimes cripple their finances or if children are involved the relationship with their ex-wife can severely hamper future dating opportunities. For some women a divorce after several children or after a certain age plays a major role in what their future dating opportunities may look like. We ask, HYNEMAN, if children are not involved are things then equal for the man and woman after the divorce, or in his opinion are there still distinct differences based on GENDER? How does society typically view DIVORCED MENversus DIVORCE WOMEN? Also, in the DATING market is better to be a DIVORCED parent or a BABY DADDY/MAMA? Our special guest, ALICIA COULTER, Masters in Public Health (MPH) & Masters in Social Work (MSW) & special guest co-host, Diversity Consultant, LATRICE ROSS drops by to discuss the contentious relationship BLACK WOMEN too often face with their DOCTOR'S and HEALTH CARE PROVIDERS. We ask her about the various health disparities specific to BLACK WOMEN, such as the fact that MATERNAL MORTALITY is two to six times higher for BLACK WOMEN based on where they live in the U.S. In 2021 why are BLACK WOMEN still provided less anesthesia during their surgeries? Why are BLACK WOMEN often turned away, then later diagnosed with a medical complication that could've been discovered with proper screening? What about the COVID 19 VACCINES & BLACK WOMEN'S MENUSTRAL CYCLES? How can the AFRICAN AMERICAN community as whole effectively advocate for EQUITABLE HEALTH CARE? Can pushing more AFRICAN AMERICAN youth to be DOCTORS & SCIENTISTS help level the playing field? MENTAL DIALOGUE asking the questions America's afraid to ask. ALL I ASK IS THAT YOU THINK
Where do BLACK MEN learn MANHOOD from? Despite the OUT-OF-WEDLOCK birth rate in the BLACK COMMUNITY, studies show that BLACK FATHERS are more involved in their children lives compared to other races. The question becomes can an involved father truly teach MANHOOD from outside the home? What about men who grew up with their fathers in the home, what things did they learn that maybe other young men don't? In the case of uninvolved fathers do BLACK MOTHERS tend to raise more emotional boys. We ask BLACK MEN across the nation what lessons have some learned from their fathers & grandfathers that assisted their ascent into manhood? A 30-minute rant between BLACK SOCRATES & DASIA ROBINSON, host of Desk of Dasia (podcast) discussing the concept of DEADBEAT DADDIES and who's responsible for unwanted children.
Have you ever gone on SOCIAL MEDIA only to be surprised at how a family member or friend thinks about an issue, and their perspective makes you question your relationship with them? Our special guest, psychotherapist, DR. KATRINA PITTMAN visits the show to discuss why we seemingly are more easily TRIGGERED in society with disagreements to include those with long time family & friends. Does having more access to each other's thoughts via SOCIAL MEDIA, put our close FAMILY & FRIENDS RELATIONSHIPS at risk, or is there a better way to handle them? Is constantly cuffing off people a good or bad way to keep our own peace? What about families and co-workers who vehemently disagree about VACCINE MANDATES? We also ask DR. PITTMAN in her professional opinion should intimate couples follow one another on social media. MENTAL DIALOGUE asking the questions America's afraid to ask. ALL I ASK IS THAT YOU THINK
Often in the AFRICAN AMERICAN community people push ENTREPRENEURSHIP as a means to elevate the BLACK COMMUNITY but are there steps that can and should be prioritized prior to BUSINESS, especially since only 11 percent of Americans are full time ENTREPRENEURS. Plus, how do we truly create GENERATIONAL WEALTH without intact families to ensure the legacy we build lives on? What areas should AFRICAN AMERICANS prioritize in order to #RAISETHECULTURE? BLACK SOCRATES offers his three priorities for the BLACK COMMUNITY and highlights his new live interactive video podcast #JUSTMY3CENTS every Wednesday at 8pm EST. Often we hear of RIGHTS OF PASSAGE programs for BLACK BOYS, but what about today's YOUNG BLACK WOMEN? How are they mentored into WOMANHOOD? Our special guest co-host DASIA ROBINSON, host of Desk of Dasia and special guest, NAAILA CLAY, founder of BLACK WOMEN IN TRAINING (BWT) join us for this very important discussion. What are the values of WOMANHOOD? Are those values very different for each woman or should there be a basic standard in order to raise the culture. If young girls are not properly introduced to WOMANHOOD, will they be confused about their own WOMANHOOD? What are the dangers, individually and for the culture if too many women never truly understand what it means to come of age and truly represent their WOMANHOOD?
