On this week's episode of Town Hall: A Black Queer Podcast, Bob the Drag Queen and Miss Peppermint explore the topic of Mental Health. We first hear from Amber Friendly (@amberfriendly), an award-winning tv and film actor based out of Los Angeles, California. Her credits include the role of 'Layla Bell' in Apple TV's The Morning Show and will next be seen in the recurring role of ‘Pearl’ in the much-anticipated return of HBO’s Perry Mason. Amber shares her experience receiving a late in life ADHD diagnosis and how depression and anxiety underpinned her childhood. Next, Joey Jefferson (@joey_spaceman), a Flight Operations Systems Engineer, currently working at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory as well as a classically trained, award-winning pianist, opens up about his struggles with depression and suicide over the years. And towards the end of the episode, Jessica Fleming (@jflem86) , a Licenced Professional Counselor Specializing in Mental Health & Trauma Therapies in the D.C. Metro Area, offers counseling to an anonymous caller who shares their struggles with being non-binary as part of a Muslim, African household.
