  • EP19: Cultivating Self-Love with Anthony Parham

    In this episode we introduce Anthony Parham, a devoted father, brother, son, friend and Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist, as well as the founder of Circle of Life Therapies. We discuss the importance of developing and cultivating self-love, not only within ourselves, but within the next generation. Anthony opens up about some of his early struggles of discovering his inherent worthiness while experiencing the impact of generational curses that have plagued our BIPOC communities. He goes on to discuss the intellectual and emotional awakenings that helped him break through the barricades of negative self-talk to enable him to discover how instrumental it is to foster self-love within our lives. Throughout the episode, he also elaborates on the brilliant ways that he is teaching his sons  to hold space for themselves and one another as they navigate their own journeys of discovering who they are in this wild world that we find ourselves in together. So please enjoy this offering of grace and compassion for ourselves and the generations to follow.

    For more from Anthony, you can reach out to him through any of the following methods: Website - anthonylmft.wixsite.com; email - [email protected]; on Instagram @circleoflifetherapies; or on TikTok @simba_ze_therapist

  • EP18 Another Take on Vampires: NBH {Part 1}

    *Trigger Warning!* If you are currently in an active abusive relationship, where you are the one being abused or you are the one doing the abusing, this episode is NOT targeted towards you. We will make this very clear in future episodes in this series; however, we failed to mention it in this one, so please listen with caution and DO NOT rationalize staying in an actively abusive situation with the hopes of any kind of awakening that could improve the situation. Please focus on finding safety (both externally and internally) before venturing into doing this level of shadow work with the more dangerously fragile aspects of our collective consciousness.

    This is the first episode in a series on Nightmare Human Beings (NHB) where we give our take, our opinion on what it has been like having experiences with humans who are more or less vampiric in the way that they engage with others, as well as the aspects of ourselves that show up as nightmarish in the realities of those around us. Rather than automatically exiling our shadow selves as irredeemably evil, we hope to offer some nuance, some grace, and a wellspring of compassion for the ways that we have been wounded and how our wounding affects the way that we play with others on the human landscape of reality. Know that you are never required to endure pain, suffering, or trauma at the hands of anyone outside of you; however, in our perspective, it is likely that the torture that we endure externally is a desperate call from inside of the house, willing our consciousness to awaken to the hauntings that are plaguing our own systems. So please "enjoy" this offering of light in a space that can feel impossibly dark.

  • EP16 Creating A Human: Coming Out Woo {Part 3}

    Creating the human version of yourself that is presenting and expressing as a human being on the 3D physical plane is a full-time job. From the moment you are birthed, you are told who to be, how to be, and what to fear in order to ensure your continued existence on this plane for as many years as humanly possible. In this episode, we discuss our process of waking up to the ways that we have been created/programmed, and give a few suggestions of beliefs that could help you with the re-programming of your own human avatar to be in alignment with who you actually desire to become. We also dig into some of the pitfalls that fear, confusion, and violence cause as we traverse along the chosen timelines within our lives. So please enjoy this selection of ideas to could possibly help you re-imagine what it could look like for you to create "you."

  • EP15 Being Human: Coming Out Woo {Part 2}

    Being human isn't a job we ever thought that we could qualify for based on the early programming/definitions of what we were told it meant to "be human." After our journey of intentionally seeking to understand ourselves, see ourselves, & know thyself, we have determined that to be human is clearly a labyrinth of paradoxes not easily defined or classified. Being human is a feeling as much as it is an act, a behavior, or a personality. In this episode we introduce our thoughts on the evolution of human consciousness, ways we anchored our consciousness to Earth as a human, and the miracle of merely existing at all. Please enjoy this appetizer of coding offering suggestions to upload into your definition of what it means to "Be" "Human."

  • EP13 More than Human: Coming Out Woo {Part 1}

    When you live in multiple internal dimensions, with various lens overlaying your perspective of the reality that you are inhabiting, there is a great tendency to fracture your consciousness to maintain the illusion of sanity. We have decided that instead of continuing the fracturing process of separating "this" from "that" in our inner world, we have begun the healing process of re-integrating the fractalized aspects of our consciousness into the light of awareness to finally be home within ourselves. This is the first episode in a series where we are revealing some of what it means for us to be an awakened, autonomous, sentient being on Earth at this time. Our aim is to explain our journey to the best of our ability to help you, whoever "you" are, know that you are not alone on your journey. The magic of living is within you, everything out "here", is playing out to help you remember who you are in "there."

    Please be mindful, that September is Suicide Prevention Month, as we mention in the intro of this episode. If you or someone you know is struggling with suicidal ideation, please reach out for help through the National Sucidice Hotline by dialing #988 or calling the Trevor Project (LGBTQIA+ youth specific) at 1-866-488-7386.

  • EP12: The Practice of Being with Ryan Beltjens

    In this episode we introduce Ryan, a friend of the spiritual nature, a seeker, a consciousness explorer, and a rad human being who has played a key part in helping us unlock the more metaphysical aspects and layers of our game through this One wild life. We explore our varied ways of waking up to some layers of consciousness that have popped us out of the 3D matrix of programming that we had been handed, as we continue to revel in all of the ways that our addictions to suffering keeps us anchored to former versions ourselves that we've played in this game. Ryan's way of humaning brings out the truth in us, in all of the ways that our inner truths are screaming to be realized. He's a light in the darkness and a true friend of the soul. Please enjoy this offering and remember to laugh along the way. (It's honestly not THAT serious).

    And still, please be mindful that we talk about depression, suicide, substance abuse, and death in this episode. If you or someone you know is struggling with suicidal ideation, please reach out for help through the National Suicide Hotline at 1-800-273-8255 or The Trevor Project at 1-866-488-7386.

  • EP10: The Complexities of Otherness with Barry Taylor

    In this episode, along with special guest, Barry Taylor, we discuss otherness through the lens of a lecture he gave where he discussed Richard Kearney's book "Strangers, Gods, and Monsters." We talk about the complicated nature of being a human being which necessitates a relationship with the strange other, as well as the monsters that reside both within us and outside of us. We also broach the variety of ways that we create gods from the altars of that which we worship. Without providing much in the way of concrete answers, we explore questions and ideas surrounding the how we relate to one another during these times of seemingly great division. So please enjoy this offering of complexities.

    Barry has a wide range of knowledge that he gives us a glimpse into during this discussion; however, if you would like to continue to experience his brilliance, check out his latest book "Sex, God, and Rock'n'Roll" and his website, ukbloke.com, for more insight into his world view.
