Imperfect Parenting - the perfect parent.
Do you often feel that you are failing as a parent - well, join the club? There is only one perfect parent and that is God, so let us look at some of the examples that he gives us.
So, I just came back from a weekend where we strategize about the company for the 2021 year. We discussed, what we want to achieve, what went wrong in 2020, and how we can improve on that as well as what went well in 2020 and how we can double down on that.
It made me realize that we spend so much time planning and strategizing in our work or company, but do we spend enough time to plan and strategize our life. Do you have a plan to do the most important things in your life first, before you start looking at the lesser important things and then the not so important things and only then at the, not at all important things?
I think we get it wrong sometimes. That we have this turned upside down, that we spend to much time on the "not at all important" things and then there is not enough space available to do the "Important" things.
I try and unpack this with you in this episode.
A crucial conversation is a discussion between two or more people where stakes are high, opinions vary, and emotions run strong. When we face crucial conversations, we can do one of three things: We can avoid them, we can face them and handle them poorly, or we can face them and handle them well.
Jim Rohn, the famous American Entrepreneur, Author, and Speaker said - "You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with!" The problem is that most people focus today on the negative aspects of their life. Things like negative influence, excuses, and their own obstacles. They see the glass half empty so to say.
The one way to overcome this is to start surrounding yourself with positive, confident, and successful people.
At Mentor on Demand, we developed a framework for how you can become a Positive, Confident, and Caring man. One of the steps is to surround yourself with other valuatics.
In this podcast, I explain the 5 unknown benefits of surrounding yourself with valuatics.
Are you playing your part in your community? In this episode Jaco discuss the one thing that makes up a community as well as the two options you have when your patience is tested in your community. As a value-atic you need to understand what you contribute towards your community as well as how it impacts on your life as well.
If you had to look at your body and imagine that it was your bank account. Will you have a positive balance or will it be in the red? People tend to look carefully at their bank balance, but not so much their body.
As they say, true wealth is good health. Morne discuss a crucial aspect how we should look at our bodies as a business and what you need to do to keep your bank balance in the positive. He exposes the one thing that society tells you to focus on but has little effect on your health.
