  • 6. A Life Coach Must Take The Blinders Off and The Power of Self Esteem
    Hey Coach. It’s time.
    To ditch the drama.
    Roll up your sleeves.
    Woman UP.
    Coach UP.
    Live UP.
Today’s episode is about taking the blinders off when it comes to understanding what it takes to be a coach who is also a business woman. This ain’t no walk in the park… but it is a chance to puff out your chest and declare, “I am HERE. Look at me!” To be willing to fight to the finish when it comes to sticking up for the little girl who’s always inside you… the one who still believes she can make her dreams come true, IF ONLY her adult self would get on board.
This is about SELF ESTEEM more than it’s about SELF CONFIDENCE.
With Self Esteem, there’s no need for drama. You know what you have to do and you just do it. You get down off your high heels and start playing in the dirt. It’s the fun exciting treacherous and terrifying side of running your own business. Still, YOU LIKE IT. YOU REALLY LIKE IT.
We’re also going to talk about what it really means to put yourself first, even IN FRONT of your CHILDREN.
    Egads.
How can I, a mom of four, even suggest that’s possible? Trust me, I don’t even believe I’m saying it, because there was a time when I believed that was tantamount to blasphemy.
Listen up my fellow hot mess of a coach friend, you need to hear this, even if you’ve heard it before. (I don’t know about you but I need to be reminded of this often)…
    YOU ARE SO IMPORTANT. PERIOD.
Which is why I make this podcast; to be a constant reminder to you of what you’re made of and the business you’re capable of creating with your coaching practice.
Buckle up and hit that PLAY button, Coach, and don’t forget to subscribe in iTunes so you never have to miss a gutsy glorious episode.

  • 5. Coaching Life Coach Stephanie McCusker: Putting Herself First
Hey there, Coach… are you struggling to find time to work on your business?
Why do you THINK that is?
You see, there are two very distinct parts to running a business: what happens on the inside (your mind) and what happens on the outside (the action steps).
Think of your mind as the horse that pulls the cart that is comprised of all the action steps. When you put the cart in front of the horse things get ugly.
You’ve got to be able to approach your business with a determined mindset that is fueled by a gutsy heart. Only then can you start taking the “one to done” action steps required to build an online business.
In this episode I talk to a fellow life coach who’s also a wife, mom, daughter, and fledgling business owner. She is stuck because her “cart” is in front of her “horse.”
She’s desperately trying to take action, not realizing that what keeps her stuck is that she doesn’t know how to ride her horse. Her horse is racked with guilt.
    Can you relate?
I first met Stephanie McCusker when she was in life coach training at the Life Coach School where I was her instructor. I caught up with her more recently when she was trying to get her business off the ground but couldn’t figure out what was getting in the way. And it had NOTHING to do with what she was doing or not doing. It was one simple thought, that had become a belief, and not only was it messing with her business, it was messing with her life.
Listen in as Stephanie shares her struggle and how I help her find the painful thought that has been hiding in plain sight… for years.

  • 4. Nail Your Life Coach Niche
A life coach without a niche is like a hot dog without a bun!
    (Sort of.)
Ask any coach and she’ll probably tell you that choosing a niche, or target market, is one of the hardest things about starting a coaching business. But that doesn’t make it any less necessary.
In this episode of Gutsy Glorious Radio: The Business of Being A Life Coach, I break this whole niche thing down for you. Basically, you have 3 options:

    * Don’t pick a niche and watch what doesn’t happen;
    * Spend a ton of money to market your business to everyone (and then cross your fingers);
    * Pick a niche and watch what happens.

I also explain how niches come in 3 sizes: MACRO, MESO, and MICRO. You want to get down to the micro niche level because that’s where your customers are.
    ***********NEW!!!!!! “NAIL YOUR NICHE”*************
Since recording this podcast I had so many coaches ask for help regarding how to choose/identify a niche.
So, here’s what I did… I created “NAIL YOUR NICHE” which takes you through the entire process (I call it my formula) for identifying a niche market that will ignite your coaching business.
This whole “niche thing” isn’t intuitive, and far too many coaching businesses fail because they didn’t get this one thing right.
    Check it out HERE.

  • 3. How a Life Coach Overcomes Self-Doubt and Marketing Yourself
Get this: I’m writing a script for “The Life Coach Movie” starring YOU as the Heroine and Self-Doubt as “The Bad Guy.”
    It’s the role of a lifetime… I think you’d be perfect!
In this episode of Gutsy Glorious Radio we’re talking about whether you’ve got the acting chops to do a big fight scene against your nemesis Self Doubt… you know, like they do in the movies.
(FYI, “The Life Coach Movie” is all about slaying Self-Doubt and marketing yourself like a boss.)
With Self-Doubt out of the way, you can get to the tactical stuff–the sales and marketing stuff we’ll be doing in the sequel, The Life Coach Movie Part Deux.
And, FYI, there’s no point in rolling your eyes and dragging your feet when it comes to the M-word and the S-word.
C’mon Coaches, we’re getting ready to do business at the speed of badass, so there’s no time for eye-rolling or distracting yourself with, “But I don’t wanna…”
Besides, if you want to be in The Life Coach Movie, you’ve got to be willing to really get into character–strong, resilient, determined, not easily foiled. (I’m hoping Spielberg will direct. Hang on a sec… I think that’s Steven, on the line).
    You vs. Self-Doubt
Here’s how to know you’re right for the part: You LOVE being a coach… It’s just that you really don’t like having to do all the tactical stuff–and the techy stuff–and the non-coach-y stuff, at least that’s what Self-Doubt is always telling you. If that sounds like you, SPIELBERG’S GOING TO LOVE YOU. Just wait to see how he develops your character!
Are you ready to step into your dual role as Life Coach AND Business Woman? Just to warn you, there will be chase scenes and a climactic fight to the finish.
    I’m getting the popcorn ready.
Seriously Coach… I’ve got your back. We’ve got some business to take care of together.
Listen up! And get ready to slay Self-Doubt so you can finally start marketing yourself.
You’re going to be a star!

  • 2. Extreme Self Coaching for The Life Coach and Legal Basics for Websites
    Today’s hot topics:
    1. Extreme Self Coaching: for coaches who are ready to take thought work to a whole new level of “deep.”
    2. Website Legal: the docs you absolutely must have on your website in order to cover your assets online.
    Hey Coach!
Ready to take a deep(er) dive into your own mind? Think you’re up for it?
Because the only thing that’s keeping you from creating your badass-to-the-bone business is what’s happening upstairs, in your noggin/noodle/gray matter/head space. You may think it’s because you’ve got too much to do, but that’s just your mind giving you another head-fake; it wants you spin; it wants you to keep circling the drain. Why? Because that’s what it does best. It’s literally been trained to do that.
    Hello-ohhhhh!
There’s a part of your mind that doesn’t want to be in business. It doesn’t want the responsibility.
So we’ve got two things going on: 1) Your heart’s desire to be your own boss AND 2) your mind’s constant attempts to sabotage that desire.
That’s what we dive into on today’s episode of Gutsy Glorious Radio.
We’re also going to “get legal with it” after I put on my “lawyer hat” to talk to you about the bare-bones-basics when it comes to the legal docs you simply must have on your website in order to “cover your assets online.” This is the part where your mind says, “No! I don’t wanna. It’s too much work.” Meanwhile, your personal assets are exposed and your liability exposure is big.
You’ve got to cover up, and today I show you where to start.
After all, your business is your baby–you need to protect it.
Listen up, Coach. Business just got real.
Oh, and don’t forget to download a copy of the Ultimate Business + Legal Checklist: How to Cover Your Assets Online. It walks you step-by-step through the entire process of setting up your online business.
    See you on the podcast!
