Lead Pastor Chad Allen kicks off "Tis the Season", the Christmas 2017 teaching series as he looks at Luke 1:46-55. Regular joy, peace, hope, and comfort happen when our gratitude originates with and orbits around Christ. Despite her situation, Mary is seen rejoicing because of God's goodness and faithfulness to her. She is filled with gratitude ... and because of gratitude, she is experiencing joy, hope, peace, and comfort. Christ's birth is the moment in time that leads us to be very grateful.

Lead Pastor Chad Allen concludes the "Created" mini-series as he looks at Romans 8:14-17. Not every Christian is called to adopt, but every Christian is called to be pro-adoption. We are pro-adoption because God is pro-adoption. Adoption is a living metaphor for God's love and the Gospel. Adoption emulates God's identity-giving and inheritance-providing nature. Our goal this week will be to affirm and encourage the growing adoption culture at CVC.

Founding Pastor Rick Duncan jumpstarts our mini-series "Created" by revisiting a familiar, yet no less powerful, Psalm 139 in honor of November being national adoption awareness month. Created in the image of God. Intentionally and wonderfully designed in the womb. Every single day we live appointed by the Creator Himself. Every conceived child a gift with tremendous purpose and value. The topic of unborn and unplanned children are not political issues, they are spiritual issues.

Lead Pastor Chad Allen concludes the "Unleashed" series, but not the campaign. Pastor Chad will take us through Jonah 4:1-11 as he shows us that Jonah's heart is not aligned with God's heart. After giving mercy to the repenting Ninevites, Jonah is angry. Jonah needs to align his heart to God's. For us, the answer is found in Jonah's reaction. The evidence that our heart is aligned with God's is seen in how we invest our time, our abilities, and our resources.

CVCYouth and Missions Associate Pastor Joe Valenti brings us in the fourth week of "Unleashed," the teaching series and campaign from the Old Testament book of Jonah. Pastor Joe will show us that the message of the Gospel should change our attitude from "I'm mad about this!" to "I'm made for this!" Pastor Joe will be looking at Jonah 3:1-5 where Jonah goes to Nineveh.

Lead Pastor Chad Allen takes us into the third week of "Unleashed," the teaching series in the Old Testament book of Jonah. Pastor Chad will show us that true repentance means a chance of heart not just a change of direction. As we look at Jonah in the belly of the fish, we'll answer the question, "What can we learn about repentance from Jonah?" The Unleashed series is the beginning of a two-year campaign for CVC to better reach the next generation, our neighborhoods, and the nations.

Pastor Rick will look at Jonah 1:4-16 and show us how instead of going to the people God called him to, Jonah ran, went to sleep, and tried to hide. Initially, he did not recognize the danger that the people around him experienced. Eventually, Jonah accepted his responsibility. He knew if he sacrificed himself, the men on the ship would be safe. We, too, can be asleep, oblivious to the danger and the storms that people are facing. God wakes us up and calls us to sacrifice, too, so others can be safe.

Lead Pastor Chad Allen kicks off "Unleashed," the teaching series from the Old Testament book of Jonah. This series will show us that we are like Jonah. We say no to God's call (salvation and mission) as we run to other things (pleasure, hobbies, idols, success, approval, etc.) But we are also the Ninevites (those to whom Jonah was sent) who were sinful creatures in need of the message of forgiveness. Pastor Chad will look at Jonah 1:1-3 and show us how we are running.

CVC welcomes Sanj Kalra of Ravi Zacharias International Ministries as we conclude the "Courageous Faith" series. Sanj was born in New Delhi, India, and comes from a Hindu background. Despite enjoying unprecedented personal success, his life eventually went spinning out of control until, in a state of deep crisis, he had a dramatic encounter with Jesus Christ in June of 2010. Sanj will share his testimony of courageous faith as he focuses on the meaning and purpose he has in Christ, and how Jesus Christ can give us new desires.
