Merry Christmas! We are so excited to be here celebrating with you all, especially in light of all that has happened this year. For most of us though, this is also a season filled with grief. We've lost loved ones, lost jobs and income, and all of us have lost any sense of normalcy. So how do we find joy in this season? Join us as Pastors Chad Allen and Josh Stone discuss how not only can you find joy in grief, but also how grief is necessary to truly find joy, not happiness.

In a season so focused on giving the perfect gift, it's easy to overlook how we receive gifts ourselves. For most of us it's simple enough to receive a small, thoughtful item, but what runs through your mind when the gift is more meaningful or full of love and affirmation? It can be difficult, but it is so important to do well. In much the same way, it's easy for us to share God's love with others yet struggle with truly accepting His love for us. God sent Love itself to the world during this time, and that Love, Jesus Christ, was sent for you. Join us as Lead Pastor Chad Allen walks us through 1 John and how life-changing this gift is!

Jesus longs to make His home (or His dwelling) in ours heart through faith (Ephesians 3:17). So, what if “home” for Christmas means that Christ is at home in you to bring you His light, His life, His love? If so, what’s dead in you that Jesus can make alive? Founding Pastor Rick Duncan is with us this morning teaching through how Christ's life defeats our death!

Lead Pastor Chad Allen kicks off our Christmas series this week by teaching from John 12:46. Christmas is a time of anticipation, of waiting for something and celebrating when it arrives! The beauty of this season is that we get to celebrate the gift of light! The question is - what will you do with the light and what it illuminates? Will you leave those dust bunnies in the darkness or take a step further in your relationship with Jesus and finding true hope in your heart?

Think for a minute about the person whom you love or admire the most. How do you show them that love? It's usually an action. You choose to watch their favorite movie with them. You remember their favorite meals or how they like their coffee. You may go out of your way to help them with errands or move houses.

Now, why did you do all of those good things?

If the relationship is healthy, it isn't because the relationship is dependent on what you do. Far from it! Those deeds were done because you love the other person! Those actions show the truth of what you say. That is the same situation we find ourselves in as followers of Jesus. When Paul spurs Titus and the church on Crete towards doing good works in the name of Jesus, it isn't because their salvation is dependent on those actions. No, it's a call to remember what Jesus has done for us, how Christ loves us, and to let that love demonstrate itself by what we choose to do!

Why is it important to know what’s true? Is it even important? How do you even know that what you profess is true?
