At some point or other, with all the crazy happening around us, we will begin to wonder, "Why are we still alive? How did we make it this far?" We want meaning and assurance in the face of confusion and uncertainty.

People back in the first century were asking the same things in the face of disaster and catastrophe. Sometimes when disaster happens to someone else it’s tempting for us to think, “Well, that didn’t happen to me because they deserved it and I didn’t.” Jesus blows up that kind of mentality in Luke 13.

The no filter reality of Jesus' teachings is that the Gospel message will divide people. It divides people in religiously different countries across the globe, and if lived out truly, will divide even in the midst of our quasi-Judeo-Christian culture of the United States. Dying to self and living a life in service to Jesus is antithetical to our individualistic "you do you" society. Living for an absolute truth doesn't fit in anymore. Division we can expect, but how are we to live faithfully for Christ in spite of it?

Somebody that you know love and care about cannot see what you see when you look at Jesus. They cannot speak about the goodness of God, about the glory in Christ, about the guidance by the Spirit. They’re spiritually blind. They are spiritually mute.

Campus Pastor Josh Stone is celebrating today with some exciting thoughts out of Luke 11. We hear about the Lord's Prayer frequently and think of things to ask God for (which He loves to provide) but what if we paused and considered the heart behind the One to whom we pray? What does this passage tell us about our Heavenly Father and how He longs to answer His children's prayers? Join us and find out!

Repent is a really church-y word. We've probably heard it used all over the place and often by people whose lives don't match the kind of love and grace that God has for us, His people. So what does it really mean? Is it enough just to say "we're sorry" and then keep going on with our lives? What does repent mean in real people speak? More than that...why is it so important a concept?

Lead Pastor Chad Allen is back again and we're still in Luke 10, digging into repentance, rejection, and rejoicing, all regarding the works and words of Jesus Christ!

Who is your neighbor?

Chances are, when a lawyer in Luke 10 asked Jesus that question, he was not asking for another explanation of what loving his neighbor looked like. He wanted to know who he was obligated to love and who he could ignore. He didn't want to be told that people who were different from him (Samaritans and non-Jews) also fit into the greatest commandments of love God and love your neighbor as yourself.

It's a question we need to ask ourselves. Who is our neighbor? And are we, like the Good Samaritan, going out of our way to care for, love, and get to know them?
