Zechariah’s heart ached both for his own child and for God to come more fully. Then, when God showed up, he wasn’t ready. But God came anyway! God surprised him with the promise of a better life to come. May we too trust in the surprising future God has for us.

The church is called to a wisdom that is rooted in the fear of God. What does this fear of God look like? How can we make wise biblical decisions, flowing from our awe of God?

May we be a people of both courage and compassion. May we be a people who honour and elevate women, as the Scriptures call us to. May we be a source of rest and blessing to the world around us, rather than angry hecklers.

It is in our periods of doubt that we can find the exclamation point of faith – that Jesus is Lord! We see this in the story of John the Baptist and his doubts about Jesus.

Everything we have comes from God. He is our source. We will engage in thankfulness together. Delighting in all the good things God has done. We’ll be naming the many good gifts God has given us.

We’ll consider how the Gospel has come to us today through various forms of technology. This will lead to considering how we can use tech to God’s glory, extending his Kingdom.

Technology has a way of pulling us away from God and from others. What are ways we can guard our relationships and honour others using technology?

We’ll be examining the MB values of Discipleship, Dependence on God’s Spirit, Community, the Centrality of Christ and hope for his return.
