Messages from The Grove

Today, we address two lies. First, “I cannot overcome my hurt, habit or hang up”, and second, “I am too messed up to love”.

Do you hear messages inside that feel so real, but lead you into despair, confusion, and condemnation? John Driver launches a new series about the true essence of our enemy’s attack: lies masquerading as truth. While there is much made about spiritual warfare in the church world, we explore the true nature of engaging in spiritual practices and disciplines to learn to recognize the lies we believe and refute them daily with the reality of who we are in Christ as informed by His gospel.

As we celebrate Palm Sunday, John Driver explores the narrative of Jesus’s Triumphal Entry into Jerusalem, including the tension wherein it is so easy to lose sight of God’s ways: in misplaced and unmet expectations about what He really intends to do to save us day in and day out. As we continue our upside down Kingdom series, we explore the concepts of heaven and earth and their relationship one to another. What is heaven really like and how does it impact and have relevance to our life here on earth. Pastor Andrew takes a look along with the help of the Bible project video, “Heaven and Earth” to gain a better understanding of both heaven and life on earth for those who long for heaven. John Driver continues our series spotlighting BibleProject videos as they reflect the principles of the Upside-Down Kingdom, focusing upon a topic often shrouded in unhealthy obsession and fear rather than the healthy embrace of divine mystery and encouragement: the Day of the Lord (also often referred to as “the end times,” or “eschatology).

The Holy Spirit is often so misunderstood that it is ignored in our daily lives. Yet, it is a vital part to our life. Today we explore, what is the Holy Spirit, what He does for us, and how we see and feel the Holy Spirit active in our lives.

We live in a world where the term “justice” is hotly debated and easily dismissed. John Driver explores a biblical context for justice that aligns our hearts with the things God not only chooses to do as actions, but also what flows from him as attributes of his uncreated nature, leading us to pay attention to and care for the marginalized, the poor, and the oppressed.

Today we explore the combination of definitions of the word holiness. In essence most of us have a term for holiness but the Holy term is something that comes directly from God himself toward us. By being in Christ we have access to the transformation power of holiness in our life that has been provided to us in Christ. Today we explore the limitations we have set on the term holiness.

Reflecting upon the BibleProject video about generosity John Driver continues the Upside-Down Kingdom series by exploring our instinctive viewpoints of God as One who interacts with us in scarcity, rather than One who is, by His very uncreated nature, outgoing and outpouring in every way imaginable.
