The One Who Is to Come

Theme: Jesus chooses 12 apostles from among His disciples, and teaches what a true disciple looks like, especially when facing persecution. True disciples wait for God’s blessing at the end.

Theme: Jesus, in the power of the Spirit and in the power of the Lord, calls unworthy sinners to spiritual health, and joyful living, and heart-deep obedience to Him.

Theme: Jesus has authority over all things, and He uses it for the purpose of His mercy towards His people.

Theme: Jesus announces that He is the Messiah who brings good news of God’s favor to all who will believe. He has authority over our enemies and His word works both in and through His church for His glory.

Theme: By resisting the Devil’s temptations with the truth of God’s word, Jesus proved to be the faithful Son of God who will carry out His saving mission through the cross. We too can resist temptation by the word and the Spirit trusting in Jesus’ cross.

Theme: Jesus is the son of God anointed by the Holy Spirit for His Messianic ministry and validated as the Son of Man who fulfills all righteousness.
