Lazarus, Come Out

Theme: Outcasts are restored to worship God, outsiders are welcomed into God’s kingdom, and sinners escape God’s just wrath through faith in God’s willing Servant; Jesus Christ whom we proclaim!

Theme: We worship Jesus because he gives eternal life through the Spirit. And, we worship Jesus by telling others that Jesus is the Savior of the world. Thus, our zeal to proclaim the gospel is fueled by our desire to see Christ worshipped.

Theme: God’s promised grace is poured out from above to the Jew first and then to the Gentile. By faith in Jesus Christ we hear and with holy zeal we speak the good news of God’s grace to sinners.

Theme: Jesus took the curse of God’s just condemnation on sinners so that they might not perish, but have eternal life. This gift of life comes only to those who are born again of the Holy Spirit, so that they believe in Christ and come into the light that their works may be seen to be of God.

Theme: Believing by faith that Jesus is the Christ who suffered for our sins and bore our shame on the cross; we are, as His disciples, to take up His life and His gospel, courageously bearing His shame in this life, in the confidence of the glory to come.

Theme: True hope and real salvation are only found in God through Jesus Christ. Therefore, our hope cannot be in man, nor in our own construction of who God is, but in the Jesus revealed to us through the Word. True followers of Christ respond with a life of praise to God.

Theme: True believers are assured of eternal life in Christ, and have confidence in the presence of God who protects them against false teaching.

Theme: Everyone who accepts by faith God’s testimony concerning His Son has eternal life, while all who do not accept it do not have eternal life.

Theme: We can know that we know God by loving God and keeping His commands; in particular, His command to love one another.
