Messianic Torah Observant Israel

Love and Torah – what’s love got to do with it? This study series is based on the “Two Great Commands” – love Yahweh and love your neighbor.

Some of the topics covered in this teaching:

• John 14:12 – Messiah Yeshua says “he who believes in Me will also do the works that I do and even greater works he shall do because I go to my Father.” What “works” is Messiah referring to?
• John 14:13 – Can someone ask for something ‘in His Name (authority)’ if that one is outside the authority of Messiah?
• John 14:16-17 – Do you understand correctly what is this “Helper” and the “Spirit of Truth”? Is it another being?

Rabbi Berkson once again dissects the words in these passages so that you will have a deeper understanding of what Yah expects of you, so that you can do it and receive the blessings.

Love and Torah – what’s love got to do with it? This study series is based on the “Two Great Commands” – love Yahweh and love your neighbor.

How does the Creator define our relationship with Him? Continuing in John chapter 15 Rabbi Steve Berkson expounds on the ‘Love/Hate’ aspects of our walk.

Rabbi Berkson turns our attention to verse 18 as Messiah out of love tells His disciples and us that if He was hated and rejected by the world, so would they/we would be hated and rejected by the world.

Why would “the world” hate you? What or who is “the world”? What does the movie, Invasion of the Body Snatchers, have to do with us and “the world”?

Then, moving into John chapter 14, Rabbi Berkson clarifies what Yeshua was talking about when He said, “I go to prepare a place for you…” You should be very excited when you hear what Rabbi Berkson has to say about that.

What does John chapter 15 teach us about the structure of the Kingdom of Yah? How does John chapter 15 relate to the Creation account in Genesis 1? What was the first instruction given to man?

When Messiah Yeshua told His disciples to guard His commands–what commands was He talking about? Did Messiah add to Torah?

John 15:15, Yeshua declared to His disciples that they are no longer servants, but friends. What is the difference between a servant and a friend? What is the definition of ‘friend’? Since Messiah said that to His disciples, how does it apply to us today?

Rabbi Berkson once again dissects the words in these passages so that you will have a deeper understanding of what Yah expects of you, so that you can do it and receive the blessings.

Love and Torah – what’s love got to do with it? This study series is based on the “Two Great Commands” – love Yahweh and love your neighbor.

Beginning this teaching in John 15:5, Rabbi Steve Berkson explains what Messiah Yeshua meant when He was exhorting His disciples to “stay in Me and He in them”, and how that statement could also be said as, “if you are in covenant with Me.” Without the Spirit of Messiah (His intrinsic nature) in us it is impossible to be in covenant with Him and His Father.

• What is Covenantal Fruit?

Moving on from there Rabbi Berkson expounds on something crucial to our having a correct mindset when dealing with those around us and it centers around the phrase “he is broken off and thrown away.” This moves him into passages in Matthew chapter 13 and Romans 11 which were not in his notes.

• What is the job for the Kingdom that is above all of our ‘pay grades’?
• Is your being considered a “darnel” or a “tare” predestined?
• Do you have a preconception of what leadership should look like or sound like? What’s the danger in that?

Rabbi Berkson does a “reset” of a ‘faith idea’ that most of us have been taught throughout our lives, namely the idea of “ask whatever you wish and it shall be done for you.” What is the awful word that precedes Messiah’s statement about ‘asking’?

Toward the end of the teaching, what started as a side note became an illustrious life-coaching moment as Rabbi Berkson was speaking about be unequally yoked and then turned his focus to those who are single and looking for a mate. A must-watch!

Rabbi Berkson once again dissects the words in these passages so that you will have a deeper understanding of what Yah expects of you, so that you can do it and receive the blessings.
