  • E19. Breaking the Melbourne Bubble (Ft Michelle)

When all things are said and done, you begin to realise that a lot of people in your life will slowly start to branch out onto numerous different pathways in their lives. A global disaster such as the pandemic didn't stop our sweet and beautiful friend Michelle from stepping outside of the bubble and start her adventure 700km away from Melbourne (yes, we know.. it doesn't sound that far).

In the middle of 2021, Michelle picked up a phone call that would change her life in an instant. Six weeks later, with several bags of luggage in tow, she had packed her bags and said goodbye to all her friends and family and ventured off to the west. Prior to living in Adelaide, Michelle had never lived alone, moved out of home or worked in another city. This week, we invited Michelle to share her experiences of moving cities during one of the world's longest and toughest lockdowns and how she's found the comfort of living by herself.

  • E18. Fake it till you make it

In your twenties, you may encounter difficulties looking for a job post graduation or even just a casual job to get you through uni or college. There's a range of factors that can amount to the reason why you haven't been able to land that role yet.

This week on the podcast, the girls chat about ways they go about managing their expectations and anxieties leading up to the job interview and how to power through it like a professional. Whether you're new to the industry or a veteran, some of us always need pointers and friendly reminders on how to ace their interviews.

Mary and Jessie share their personal experiences about job hunting, job securing and the biggest no no to employers, "salary expectations". Let's get out there and try to make our money fold* boys and girls.

*Tune in to find out more.

Well, whatever it is that you're in for your girls are back this week to discuss with their friend Kelly about red, yellow and green signs or flags that could arise in relationships.

Buckle your seat belts, because we're in for a bumpy ride.

  • E16. Welcome to the Villain Era 😈

"Mirror Mirror, on the wall, who is the fairest one of all?" It’s me girl. It’s me. Thank Yew ✨

After years of spending our time in the "boss girl" or "that girl" era, tirelessly trying to wake up at 5am to make a green juice and go jogging with Lucy from Yoga class and logging on at 8:45AM to answer all your work emails before 12:00PM... My friends, we have finally entered the villain era and it's time to take back what was once ours, the ✨unfiltered self preservation energy✨.

The inner introvert inside of us is screaming with absolute joy. This is not your green light to go and be a total a**hole to Susan the receptionist or not showing up to work, it's about reclaiming your energy, time and setting boundaries to ensure that you're really truly living your life, instead of romanticising it for Instagram.

Join the girls this week as they discuss the cultural phenomenon that is the Villain Era and how they've noticed their lives shift from "that girl" to THIS GIRL. 😈

  • E15. Unpopular Opinion: Flowers ain't sh*t on V-day (Ft Kevin Truong & Emily)

    Hello fellow friends!

On this week's episode, our favourite person Kevin returns but this time, he brought along his beautiful girlfriend Emily. As per the last episode we had with him, Jessie and Mary both learnt (to their shock) that Kev had only recently discovered what love languages was and it was only fitting to have this discussion with Emily in the room.

Join the girls this week to hear Emily reveal how Kev came to learn about love languages and how as a couple, the art of love languages has helped them progress their relationship. Mary and Jessie also divulge and debate their bedroom arrangements and Kev boycotts the Valentine's Day marketing scheme.

  • E14. pov it's 2005 & ur making ur first hotmail acc

Let's rewind, *insert tape rewind sound effect here* back to 2005 when being on the internet meant that your home landline wouldn't ring and every time your mum picked up the phone and dialled someone, you'd be kicked off.

Imagine this, it's 3:30pm and you couldn't wait to get home, to log onto MSN to chat with your friends and send them emojis and customise your name with different colours and fonts. As the years went on, you were on Myspace, Bebo and eventually Facebook and as you became more mature, the things you did on the internet became cringe worthy.

This is what this week's episode is all about, roasting our former selves of the most shameful behaviours and pictures of our former life.

We would luv 2 stay & chat, but brb, ttyl gotta do homeworkz.

    xoxo

  • E13. Love you bro but no homo (Ft Duy Nguyen)

Sharing your deepest, darkest secrets is one thing, but sharing the feelings in your darkest hour is a whole other thing. Especially if you're expected to just pull it together because "MANS DON'T CRY".

Sometimes it's easier to just keep the walls up because you don't want to be vulnerable incase of judgement. This week we catch up with Duy Nguyen from Sunset Confessions Podcast and discuss the ✨toxic masculinity✨ that comes with being a guy.

  • E12. Entrance Fee is $150 to my wedding

WE LOVE LOVE but just FYI there’s going to be an entrance fee of $150 to my wedding if you wanna come….

This week we discuss all things weddings and all the politics that are involved especially in relation to our Asian wedding customs and traditions. Despite being actual twinsies as proven in our previous episodes, we both have a very different take on what we want for our big days...

Another sensitive question is how much do you give when you’re attending someone else’s wedding?   Join this discussion with us now by streaming this weeks episode on Spotify, Apple Podcast and YouTube and following us on Instagram and share your thoughts on the topic.

  • E11. I'm going to cancel her

    Hello friends!

"I don't think this is working out..." is something we've heard before, or not... maybe some people prefer to not have the difficult conversations and ghost you instead. However, on Messie Minds we are all about recognising and having these conversations.

On this week's podcast, we navigate through all the relationships in our twenties. Between your love life, your friendships, family and work, you mainly have one relationship that needs to be maintained and that's with yourself. Then you can really extend out and have great relationships with the people in your life.

Join us as we both discuss all the ups and downs of relationships and how we ride the waves of life.

Please follow and give us a rate on whatever platform you're tuning in on and share the love with your friends so we can grow our community.

    Hello beautiful people!

This week, we're joined with one of our good friends for the very first time on this show Mr Kevin Truong. Kevin has been a long time friend for both Jessie and Mary and this week, we've invited him on to give us some male perspective on things that we find sexy.

We go into depth with why certain aspects will be sexy according to different people and discover that people interpret the same scenario very differently. Kevin shares his experiences with his dating life and what maturity does to your dating career. We invite you guys to join us this week on the extra juicy conversation that gets a little spicyyy~
