Most people end up in jobs they're not that excited about whilst others might require a little more than that. As if your early adulthood isn't difficult enough as it is already, but having to face the fact that what you studied at university isn't exactly what you envisioned or that you can't actually land a fulltime job. So what now?
This week, we invited Brenda back to chat to us about how to navigate the turbulent seas that is your career. We get an idea of what recruiters and employers look for in a high value candidate and how to get around the imposter syndrome. What we took away from this discussion was approach it like a man. "What would a man do?" is a question that she asks herself everyday when it comes to making decisions and being assertive in your venture to payrises or finding your spot at the table.
Whether you're just starting out or you're considering a change in industry, this episode is a good reminder on how to make yourself as presentable as possible to the employment world!

This episode is dedicated to Michelle's beloved daughter Alaska, who would have been 3 years old at the time of this recording. There is no foot too small that it cannot leave an imprint on this world and we will always remember her.
Please note that we do talk about death, suicide and depression in this episode, which we know can be distressing. So if you need resources or support go to beyondblue.org or for 24 hour free counselling in Australia, the number for Lifeline is 13 11 14, please look after yourself.
Michelle is a budding influencer with a #vanillagirl aesthetic. You could never think that such a petite, bubbly and vibrant young lady is a mother of two, who has experienced a traumatic event such as a still-birth. Navigating all the grief and changes in her transition into adulthood, we couldn’t imagine a more harrowing experience.
Add to that a series of grieving, difficulties concieving and relationship anxieties coupled with the pandemic, life did not seem like it had a light at the end of the tunnel for her. We are so grateful that Michelle found the strength to continue her fight to be with us today to share her story to the world. Although this episode contains some dark themes, Michelle was able to laugh (and cry) as she shares her experience with motherhood and her fashion content creating journey. This week's episode is one of our favourites as it is so raw and enlightening. We highly recommend listening to this!

Brenda Van is no stranger to the internet. She's the type of girl who takes on any opportunity that arises with two hands and turns it into something she can monetize. Despite working a corporate 9-5 job in marketing, running several side businesses to help others in the corporate world, Brenda still manages to find time to create content and host the most sought after singles mixer and dating events.
We had the pleasure of sitting down with her a couple of weeks before she relocated to Sydney and tapped into her genius creative mind. When we say, this girl does not switch off, she really doesn't! And when she says she does suffer from burn-out, it really is hard to believe. Energetic and bubbly Brenda disclosed how she founded Dating Apps Suck during the pandemic, to combat the lacklustre connections that can come from dating apps.
We also dig into what we think is a good foundation for first time impressions, the icks, the successes and more importantly how you can qualify to attend Dating Apps Suck events. Settle into this one you guys, it's giving major girl boss vibes.

Have you ever felt confused about your identity especially when people ask you for your nationality, then you answer with Australian and they respond with "No, like where did you come from?" Because we definitely struggle with that identity crisis, especially when returning home to the motherland and they turn around and call you a "Việt kiều". So, what are we really?
We thought that this week we would invite a friend of Jessie's onto the show to share his origin story and how he's now settled in Australia, working as a teacher and a fitness coach. Coach Nam moved to Australia at the tender and angsty age of fifteen and settled into the Australian life with his host family. He discovered a passion for sports and quickly developed into training his body for optimum performance.
Although many believe fitness is all about eating right and showing up to the gym and lifting the heaviest weights, Coach Nam shares with us that fitness is actually more about training your mind and body into creating good routines and habits. It's really all about mindset.
Amongst all the discussions around fitness, health, identity and belonging, we also had to bring in the juicy tea about what it is like for single men in their 20's and dating. OBVIOUSLY. Find out why Nam thinks that the theory that "men DON'T marry for love" is a true concept.
So guys and girls, strap in and grab a cup of tea or coffee because this one is lengthy, educational and super juicy!
