This is almost live. Recorded this morning, for publication this morning. It's a meditation on fishing when I was a young boy, and the terrible destruction of my teddy bear. It's also the first big meditation on the Seven Limbed Prayer. This is an amazing infrastructure in many great Tibetan Buddhist rituals. In this weeks podcast I reflect indirectly on three of those limbs; Rejoicing, Gratefulness, and Confessing. Three emotional attitudes or dispositions found universally in all religious practice. Skills if you like to be nurtured, which generate a sense of well being. Hope you enjoy.

Love for who. And where does that start. Well it begins with the mentor Deity. I'm alone in the room and I use an icon or some Buddhist image to open and embody one side of the relationship. The other side is coming from the mysterious depths of time and space.

This is the dynamic of faith in a modern world. The art of faith. Embodying the relationship with a mentor deity with words and with gestures.

And by the way, in the last quarter of the podcast I got into what is called the Seven Limbed Prayer which is a fantastic and wonderful pattern of mind training in Buddhist Tibet. I wanted to do a reflection this week that was calm. I need calm. And the first attempt at making the podcast was full of agitation. I was agitated. So then I really calmed myself down. Oh yes, way down. And this is what happened. It's a calm podcast. Have a calm week end.
