Whether it's your obsession, hobby, work, or relationships, Good Friday is the moment to let go. Something good opens up in the silence when we stop speaking. Leaping into the abyss of non being. Let go of all that you hold on to.

This is just for the small things. The grass cutting, the house cleaning, the burdens of improving your life. Stop. Let go. Be still. Listen. That's a Good Friday.

Well this is an extra for March; a reflection on hope and despair. Because sometimes I am flung from emotional highs to emotional low. Sometimes my faith is an overwhelming sense of divine presence in every leaf. and sometimes it all drops out like the internet and I'm left feeling like him who cried out; God has abandoned me.

There's a real human thing in there; in the in between space, in the time between high tide and low tide.

This is a fun reading, with lots of mentions of my dear friend, the General.

I did two reflections this week. The first was about how faith reaches moments of high exuberance, and then it goes out like the tide and you feel empty and close to despair.

But I also wanted to continue reading the book which tells my journey through the covid pandemic. That strange shadow came over us all this time three years ago. And the book I wrote during that time is all revealed in the title; what is beautiful in the sky. Hope you enjoy the double podcast this week.

It's the title of a book I wrote during the pandemic. And for me it's the key that took me out of depression ten years ago; finding what is beautiful, and choosing to look for what is beautiful and making a decision to be grateful for just being here. Yep. I suppose it's an attempt to live from the inside out, rather than from the outside in. Here's a special meditation on all that. Hope you like it.

There's two parts to this. 16mins of an introduction, sharing my enthusiasm for prayer as a kind of psychotherapy. And in the second half, 33mins reflection on the very amazing concept of a godhead. Yeah it sounds heavy. But it's all from good sources. I stick with traditional teachers, and if you listen lightly and let the words sweep across the room like they were looking for poetry, then it should all work out ok.
