This week on Eat My Brunch, Tracey Johnson from Vita Health Group NHS Talking Therapies joined us for a vital conversation. Specifically, we focused on two major awareness campaigns happening this month.
Firstly, we highlighted Mental Health Awareness Week, which runs from the 11th to the 17th of May. Secondly, we discussed the upcoming Billericay Dementia Action Week. Both campaigns aim to bring our community closer together.

Why Billericay Is Turning Blue This Week
Dementia Action Week always receives incredible support across our town. For this reason, many local High Street shops, businesses, and cafes are choosing to “turn blue” in solidarity. In addition, the local library and the Chantry Centre Town Council office are proudly participating.
To raise awareness, we have been busy distributing posters all over Billericay. Crucially, local primary school children beautifully created many of these designs. These posters show that small everyday actions can truly help people living with dementia. Consequently, these simple acts also offer massive support to their families.
Discover the New Charity Anthem “Come With Me”
During the interview, we also explored a brilliant community music project. The talented singer-songwriter Mark W Collard wrote an uplifting new track titled “Come With Me”. This beautiful song features the incredible Dementia Friendly Barry & Billericay Voices.
Furthermore, the project has a clear three-fold mission:
The Vision: The team wants to spread joy and spark genuine human connection. The Sound: This warm, sing-along anthem brings different generations together into one shared sound. The Cause: The track highlights the immense power of music therapy in dementia care. How Local Voices Joined the Musical Collaboration
People of all ages across Billericay absolutely loved practicing and singing this piece. For example, the Billericay Men’s Shed and the local Memory Café joined the fun. Likewise, teams from NHS Talking Therapies and the Brightside children took part.
We also received wonderful help from our friends over in Barry Island. Even Marco from the café, including both the real Marco and the actor, sang along for the official music video! Therefore, it has truly been a fantastic team effort.
Where to Buy the Single and Support the Cause
The charity single is officially available to buy on Spotify and all major music apps from Monday 18th May. It costs just 99p. Most importantly, all proceeds from the track go directly to dementia-focused charities in Billericay and Barry Island.
You can stream the track right now. However, we kindly ask you to download and buy a copy on your favorite app. By doing this, you are directly helping a very worthy cause. https://open.spotify.com/artist/3BR5iKvuMUosNahDYUkRrg
