What our body communicates to us, through our nervous system, matters.
Our body is our biggest teacher.
It can help us understand and heal from different kinds of trauma. And guide us through everyday life, finding more relaxation and resilience. Moment by moment, day by day.
In this episode we explore how we can refind balance and resilience and the role of psychedelics in this process—both in high doses, and microdoses.
About Marijn Schrieken
Marijn Schrieken is a body oriented trauma therapist. She's trained in several modalities that have revolutionized trauma therapy, such as Somatic Experiencing by Peter Levine, NARM by Laurie Heller and the Polyvagal Theory by Stephan Porch and Deb Dana, as well as other supporting techniques. The essence of these modalities are about releasing trauma through the body and her nervous system, which brings back natural flow in connection with ourselves and others. Marijn works in this field for nearly eight years professionally, but the curiosity about how our brain functions and how we relate to stress has been there for much longer. About 20 years ago, Marijn experienced her first psychedelics assisted therapy session, and she was so amazed by the possibilities that she continued doing this many times with different doses and substances.

In this episode we speak about death. Not the first topic you'd expect on our channel, you say? Correct, but we've learned along the way that we can be looking at death and grief as an integral part of life. And there is SO MUCH value in looking at it from all perspectives with someone who knows a great deal about grief and dying - not just in the literal sense, also conceptually, where 'parts' of us die, creating space for growth. And right there is where sacred psychedelic medicines enter the stage.

Ellen is a Shandong-Taiwanese-American entheogenic death + grief companion that walks with people through the death portals of their life transitions. She works holistically across the physical, emotional and spiritual bodies using tools like breathwork, inner child somatic root healing, micro/macrodose journeying, and spiritual altar work.

23:45 Connection with ancestors through psychedelics
35:27 Death and grief as portals for transformation
39:17 Overcoming our fear of death
44:55 The advice to "die before we die"
48:51 A sweet and powerful death meditation

In this episode we speak with Jonathan Lu and Shauheen Etminan, the co-founders of Vcenna, as they take us on a journey through the historical context and societal stigma surrounding religion. We discuss their personal experiments with psychoactive substances and the advantages they might offer, including heightened consciousness and even telepathic experiences. We also spotlight the practice of microdosing and its potential to amplify emotional awareness, all without the vivid hallucinations often associated with psychedelics.
The duo emphasizes the significance of intentionality in this pursuit. Furthermore, Jonathan and Shauheen generously share their personal revelations from the world of lucid dreaming and express their genuine excitement for the uncharted territories these compounds might unlock in the exploration of diverse states of consciousness.
ABOUT OUR GUESTS
Jonathan Lu and Shauheen Etminan are the co-founders of VCENNA, a drug discovery company that creates mental wellness solutions from psychoactive plants used ceremonially in Ancestral Eastern traditions. We will be speaking about their MAGI ANCESTRAL supplements, based on a legal ingredient called Syrian Rue. They developed different formulas: one is for microdosing, and others to enhance sleep, lucid dreaming, and meditation.
Jonathan is an engineer that has been studying 2000 year old Chinese texts in search of compounds, formulations, and rituals that have been lost to history. His team applies modern neurophysiological and computational tools to understand scientifically what our ancestors discovered millennia ago, and from which they developed the nootropic formulations for Magi Ancestral Supplements.
Shauheen Etminan is an intuitive activator, inventor, and passionate founder dedicated to creating impactful products and platforms embodying wellness, abundance, authenticity, and reciprocity. With a track record spanning multiple industries, his focus on psychedelics for mental health and cognitive growth aligns with his personal journey and mission as an autotelic entrepreneur.

💫 Beta Carbolines and Syrian Rue
💫 What should every microdoser know about these compounds?

In this soulful episode with Anna Heil we delve into the importance of personal choice and support during childbirth, emphasizing emotional well-being for mothers and their partners during pregnancy and parenthood. Anna discusses how some mothers have reported the positive results of using psilocybin microdoses for mood swings and anxiety during pregnancy and breastfeeding. We also talk about how microdosing can increase awareness, and plant medicines can help embrace our divinity and humanness as parents.
As Anna underlines, we should see becoming a mother as the ultimate rite of passage; it’s mega transformational, it’s ceremonial, it’s meaningful, and it’s a path of learning and becoming.

In this Microdosing Table Talk episode with Alexander Beiner we dive into the role that psychedelics can play in our lives, and their potential in helping us navigate modern-day crises such as wars, pandemics, ecological crises and the emergence of AI. Psychedelics always emphasize the need to address the root of problems if we want to truly start addressing them, and if we want to make real headway.
Alexander emphasizes quality over quantity when it comes to psychedelic experiences. He underscores the value of profound and meaningful journeys over simply having experiences. Moreover, we delve into the realm of microdosing, sharing thoughts on how it’s a low access barrier tool that can play a role in collective healing, solving problems, and aiding creativity.
ABOUT OUR GUEST
Alexander Beiner is an author and journalist. His book 'The Bigger Picture: How psychedelics can help us make sense of the world' has been hailed as 'the most important book on psychedelics to come about in a long while' (David Jay Brown) and 'a convincingly argued, deeply thought-provoking and beautifully written book.' (Graham Hancock). He's an executive director of Breaking Convention, a UK charity which hosts one of the world's largest conferences on psychedelic science. He runs a popular Substack, The Bigger Picture, where he writes about popular culture, AI, psychedelics and systems change. You can read more about his work on alexanderbeiner.com.

“Confusion is the greatest form of communication”. This quote by Salvador Dalí inspires Mycopreneur as he serves the psychedelic space daily doses of reflection through humor and confusion. His satirical media platform Mycopreneur (similar to the Onion) offers a good laugh and uncovers some of the hidden dynamics at play while psychedelics are going mainstream.
ABOUT OUR GUEST
Dennis Walker is a satirist, journalist, and puppeteer who has recently pivoted into the psychedelic space after watching How to Change Your Mind on Netflix. He was immediately inspired to launch a psychedelic-focused brand, and used half of his earnings from a successful Cirque du Soleil knock off freak show in Eastern Europe to hire a world class PR Agency in LA to help cultivate an air of authority in the psychedelic renaissance. He now regularly lectures and goes on podcasts, and is hoping to strike it rich when psychedelics become the new cannabis.

✨ ABOUT MICRODOSING INSTITUTE:
Microdosing Institute offers education on how to microdose with psychedelics safely, consciously and effectively. We create community and foster healthy conversations in the microdosing space so that we can continue to learn more and expand the body of knowledge on best practices and harm reduction. Additionally, we encourage and promote research by partnering with universities and other organizations across the globe so that the full potential of microdosing may be realized and made accessible to those who can benefit from the practice.
