In this series we are learning what it means to be a people of presence. This week we discuss what it looks like to discern the presence of God around the communion table as a community of faith and then what that looks like to live out and discern his presence in our neighborhoods.

God is a God of presence. Ultimately, it is God's presence that changes the world and as followers of Jesus, God is asking us to be a faithful presence to the world. But, how do we learn to be people of presence? How are we formed in our habitus to live out this new kingdom reality that we have been invited to?

To live in America in 2017 is to live in a culturally and religiously pluralistic society. God is simply not as obvious as God might have once been. There are many ways that Christians choose to engage the culture but is is possible that there is one way of engaging that holds most true to the actual way of Jesus? The way of presence...

This week we celebrated our first birthday. For this podcast, we had a number of friends in the Mid-City Vineyard community of faith tell their stories of the things God has been doing in their lives and how MCV is playing into that.

Paul teaches us that we must be transformed by the renewing of our mind so that we can know what God is up to. For so many, we think we have figured God out and if it doesn't fit into the box that we've put God into, then we simply assume that it can't be God. But what if, Paul was saying that we are to continue being transformed because God doesn't really fit into any of our boxes...In this teaching, we talk about Thinking With God.

In his letter to the Colossians, Paul speaks about Christians character and what it looks like to 'clothe oneself' with the things of Christ and God's Kingdom. In this podcast we talk about what that does and does not mean for us today.

With very little commentary added, we spent our time this week simply reading Paul's letter to the Philippians

From our first breath we are being formed in our minds, spirits and souls. We learn how to respond, react, argue and so forth. At the same time the Spirit of God is always inviting humans into a different life, a life of God's kingdom. Created in God's image we have been formed and are invited to be transformed into Christlikeness.

As human beings we are always changing, growing, developing. The challenge is that we live in a world of instant gratification, a culture where things are expected to happen immediately. However, it doesn't work this way with the human soul. This is seed work and it takes patience and diligence.

In this podcast we spend our time reflecting on the year 2016 and how we were shaped as a community and as individuals. This podcast is a bit different as there will be moments of silence, time for reflection, prayers and songs.
