Craig Giangrande has served the general public for his entire adult life: as a worker, a police officer and a local business owner the owner of several local Burger King franchises.

Since 1991, Craig and his wife Linda have been residents of Legislative District 3 in Frederick County. Craig and Linda believe Frederick County has been an exceptional community in which to work, grow a business and raise their two children.

Craig's late father, a first generation American, was an Army veteran of the Korean War era, and a small business owner. Initially, he owned a luncheonette on the docks of Brooklyn, NY, catering to stevedores and other shift workers.

His mother, a longtime Frederick resident, comes from a line of Rhode Island oystermen and Western Pennsylvania coal miners.

Simon has led four businesses, and has served on the boards of several leading Maryland non-profits. He is the CEO of Bronfman Rothschild which manages $6.1 billion and has eleven offices in the Midwest and east coast. From 2006 to 2008, Simon was the chairman of the board of the Montgomery County Community Foundation[1] and in 2016 Simon was elected chairman of the board of the Greater Washington Community Foundation. In April 2016, Simon and his family were recognized by Interfaith Works as Humanitarians of the Year.

On February 6, 2018, Simon declared his candidacy to represent the state of Maryland in the U.S. Senate as an Independent.

Shari Scher Shari and her husband have been residents of the City of Frederick for decades. Shari has a BA and MS in Early Childhood Education, spent many years as a Childhood Curriculum Specialist and Family Involvement Supervisor in with Frederick County Public Schools, and presently serves as an Adjunct Professor at Hood College and a Professional Developer for Head Start in Frederick. Her professional and volunteer work has been recognized by too many awards to list here, but includes Maryland’s Top 100 Women (2006), a Teaching Excellence Award (2012), Educator of The Year, Maryland PTA (2013) and Humanitarian of the Year from Hood College (2017). She is the founder and president of Children of Incarcerated Parents in Frederick.
