In this special edition of the Middle Theory Podcast, it's a somber reunion for the program as our discussion focuses on the recent Friday the 13th terror attacks in Paris, France. We carefully examine the events which played out over the course of the evening, which involved multiple incidents including suicide bombings, shootings, and a hostage situation which altogether led to the deaths of 129 victims, 89 of which died at the Bataclan theatre. 

We examine a number of questions about Paris attack, including why some of the attackers have passports on them, and reports where concert goers reportedly heard the attackers proclaim, “you killed our brothers in Syria, now we do this to you."

Also, McNonymous asks, "why wait until game was well under way, and crowd had gone inside stadium before trying to get into Stade de France? Would it have made more sense to try to sneak in with thousands of people? Would it have made more sense to detonate suicide vest amidst big crowd going through turnstiles? Why wait until not many others around?"

In addition to the French casualties, how does this incident effect the future of French politics? Could the suicide bombings be viewed as 'decoys' to allow for the carnage that would ensue at the Bataclan theatre later that evening?Who stands to benefit the most from this attack, and was this a way of baiting NATO into going full bore into Syria and Iraq in order to legitimize ISIL’s hold?

It is with deep regret that we learned of the passing of Leonard Nimoy just prior going to air with this latest installment of Middle Theory, and hence, The Mouth and McNonymous pay tribute to the man whose efforts went well beyond his portrayal of characters like "Spock," famous science advisor to Captain James Kirk of the Starship Enterprise in the famous Star Trek universe.

Micah also goes on a rant in response to a suggestion from the listenership that we "pick a side," which if you think about it, is essentially contrary in every way to the concept of a "Middle Theory" as we seek to express on this program. Can one truly unlearn their biases?

In the news we examine this week, Robert Van Winkle, AKA Vanilla Ice, was arrested in relation to a residential burglary, which gets Mr. McNonymous thinking about a subject we addressed some time ago, having to do with supposed "occult" ties to the music industry. We actually see this subject coming up quite a lot these days... and the further inference that the Illuminati are behind it all, a secret society who historically benefits from its ominous symbolism (which they apparently "hide" EVERYWHERE for all to see). Sounds like they could learn a few lessons from the World's Most Secret Society on how to actually remain secret, and still be a society.

Finally, President Obama has caused our eyebrows to raise by challenging Republicans to ‘Have a vote on whether what I’m doing is legal’, with equal promises of vetoing their opposing votes. Meanwhile, a group of sixth graders were recently asked to revise an “outdated” Bill of Rights in a Common Core exercise. McNonymous doesn't think it was a big deal... The Mouth begs to differ (so how's that for picking sides?).

The Sentinels are on the watch this week, as Middle Theory examines the very most concerning issues of the day... like Katy Perry's lawyers saying to the latest “Left Shark” vendor: “Cease and Desist!” Was Katy's performance actually her tryout for the Illuminati order? All kidding aside, Rapid City Journal recently did an exposé on what it's like iving next door to a Secret Society… who pays for their neighbor’s vacations.

This isn't the only conspiracy-oriented story that's been turning heads lately. For instance, it may have been ten years ago, but the death of Dr. Kelly, a MOD Weapons expert, still haunts our minds... and you'll soon see why. It's about as scary as that time the Pentagon lost track of 400 million worth of weapons it gave to Yemen... which was, like, last week.

But nothing is quite as concerning to us as the latest updates regarding that portion of Congress's inquiry into the 9/11 attacks that were redacted before public release. All bullshit aside, what did the inquiry find that was withheld from the public, to the tune of 7500 words or so? 

Moving on to the big story of this week, we examine President Obama’s latest gaffe: should our president compare ISIL to the Christian crusades, despite there being an 800-year difference? The NYT says, “Obama may have thought he was giving a straightforward history lesson at the National Prayer Breakfast… but that is not how many of his longtime critics saw it”. The Atlantic called it response from the political right, "Foolish, Historically Illiterate (and) Incredible", and on leading Muslim group responded enthusiastically to Obama's comments, inviting him to attend a mosque. Others weren't so pleased, including MSNBC hosts Joe Scarborough and Andrea Mitchell.

Part of the problem with Obama's comments have to do with the fact that, very recently, the latest ISIL video purporting to show a cruel killing featured the death by burning of a Jordanian pilot. As we can obviously see, all eyes are on ISIL… but looking back to late last year, Al Arabiya news service asked if this could this have b...

It's Big Game weekend, and of course, there's a conspiracy theory involving the Jets and the Patriots cheating scandal in the news (probably several, in truth). In the hours leading up to kickoff, why not kick back and enjoy the Middle Theory pre-game show where we look at all the latest allegations of NFL cover-ups and conspiracies, as well as these 10 Super Bowl predictions from unlikely sources.

McNonymous also asks when we'll see the end of "political dynasties", with the news that Mitt Romney will not run again in 2016, and hence, whispers stirring in the political sphere suggest already that we'll be seeing a Hillary Clinton and Jeb Bush race... that's right, another Bush-Clinton election. Run while you can, folks... it doesn't matter what side you're on, since it seems we're headed back to being a monarchy.

We highlight the mystery surrounding the death of a defense contract worker at Saudi hotel and New Republic says the latest “giant conspiracy” with Obamacare is almost X-files... well, sort of. Finally, one of our listeners asks, should “anti-vaccination” parents be jailed According to this op-ed, we should jail 'anti-vax' parents, because your family's right to be sick ends where public health begins.

To wrap things up, this Newsweek article caught The Mouth's attention, by asking whether the Chernobyl disaster was actually a cover up for something even worse? It points to one of the greatest unsolved mysteries of the Cold War era... what was "The Russian Woodpecker," and what was it's actual aim?

In other news, NASA and NOAA have been the center of attention lately in saying that 2014 was the hottest year on record.  However, following this official announcement, NOAA data was revealed the following day that says it’s “More Unlikely Than Likely” 2014 was really the hottest year on record. This, in our opinion does not "debunk" the claim... it does, however, show some of the bias in the way the media reports on these issues.

Elsewhere, Pennsylvania Politicians have coerced the NCAA into restoring Joe Paterno’s wins at Penn State following Sandusky fiasco... which has infuriated many (and rightly so). McNonymous gives us the details, before we look at the latest in the ongoing saga of the aftermath of Charlie Hebdo. Firstly, The Intercept asks, “were the shooters part of a global terrorist conspiracy?”  We also look at the claims regarding a “Sorcerer” who may have groomed the Paris shooters, which sheds light on phenomenon of radical Islam in French jails.

Also big news, the Argentine prosecutor who accused Kirchner of 1994 bombings was found dead... and days later, Argentine President Kirchner now says the prosecutor’s death was not a suicide.

Finally, Chad commits troops to battle Boko Haram in Africa, while this Op/Ed says to not blame Western Media for glossing over Nigeria, but to blame Nigerian government for being inept. We also discuss the Albuquerque DA who indicted police officers in the shooting of a homeless man, and the DA’s office immediately being shut out of subsequent police briefings on crime.

Happy New Year first of all... and as we move ahead into 2015, the dynamic duo that makes up Middle Theory has been adjusting their regular broadcast notes and planned stories for our 2015 "kickoff" to reflect the sad turn of events in France over the last few days.

Micah and McNonymous exchange pleasantries as Chris describes his recent equestrian outings in Canada, and Micah divulges his interest in the pursuit of knowledge and his newest hobby, pyramidology, which he acquired over the holidays. Then, to look first to the past, what exactly was found inside Paul Revere’s time capsule? In a similar line of thought, McNonymous points us in the direction of CNN’s “End of the World” video, “To be played only if end of the world confirmed.”

We also take a little time to examine Obama’s last 2014 NPR interview, in which he threatens to exercise his veto powers. Meanwhile, Malia Obama has been in the news after she was seen wearing a "cop-hating gangsta rap t-shirt." Or… is it just a 16-year old girl wearing a t-shirt?

Looking at the French Terror Attacks, media agencies have been keeping us abreast of how it all happened, and what we know at present, as separate events have erupted in the hours since recording this week's show.

Finally, we spend a little time looking at the so-called "Royal Scandal", as the allegations that Prince Andrew had sex with a teenage sex-slave are being vehemently denied. Elsewhere, more on the Florida woman who claims sexual relations with Prince Andrew has been released, in the wake of information showing that sex offender Epstein had “21 numbers for Bill Clinton” in his phone book. Elsewhere, Steven Seagal was also sued for sexual harassment and trafficking this week, and in the world of sports, similar controversies Oldham Athletic, who is in process of signing convicted rapist Ched Evans (which is not the first time an English team has welcomed a player from jail to the locker room).

First up, we look at Sony Pictures hacking updates include analysis of a sad chain of emails that include insider info on Ghostbusters, Star Wars, and lots of executive-level drama, along with the strong inference that, yes, North Korea may have been behind the hack. We also look at listener feedback regarding last week's discussion of controversial shootings like that of 12-year-old Tamir Rice, which was recently ruled a homicide (for more commentary on this, also consider listening to this segment on how police can cool down confrontations BEFORE they happen).

Then it's on to Springhill Prison in Canada for a black helicopter sighting, as is being probed by Transport Canada, in preparation for our Top Five Most INSIDIOUS Conspiracy Theories of 2014. But first... the recently released CIA Torture Report is the hot item in the news this week, which can be read in its entirety here, or a highlight courtesy of the NYT can be reviewed in this list of seven key points. CIA chief John Brennan responded to the report's release, which elicited the following response from former Attorney General Michael Mukasey, who says Brennan is “dead wrong,” and further noted that water-boarding was justifiable because no laws were broken. Finally, Russia and other European countries weigh in, with calls for Denouncement.

It's that time of year: holiday specials are numbing the minds of Americans, kicking things off with Peter Pan Live The live broadcast got our attention, since it features “The Classic” himself, Christopher Walken, along with an “indigenous update” of sorts, where one song portraying stereotypes of Native Americans was updated and changed for the NBC production. Then, we consider the frightening possibility that Kevin of Home Alone fame was actually the inspiration for the killer Jigsaw in the Saw films. Can you say "conspiracy"?

Then moving along to bigger news, Sony gets hacked hard, and while USA Today had claimed it was a likely North Korean retaliation for the upcoming film The Interview, Wired argues that may not be the case. We also take a look at the latest update on Military sexual assault reports, which increased 8 percent in 2014, in light of a recent note to readers from Rolling Stone with regard to a changing narrative about the widely-publicized Virginia University gang-rape story the magazine ran.

The most controversial running narrative in the media as of late, however, has to do with the high-profile coverage of police shootings involving unarmed African American men. Featured are a recent instance where a cop fatally shoots unarmed black man in Phoenix, and elsewhere, the Eric Garner case in New York is garnering cries for justice in an arrest attempt that resulted in the man's killing. Meanwhile, The Atlantic gives a breakdown comparing the Eric Garner and Michael Brown cases, both of them deaths without indictments of the officers involved; and finally, we examine the tragic case of Tamir Rice, and the fact that the officer who shot the 12-year-old was deemed "unfit" in his previous position with law enforcement.

This week's program features a tribute not only to our Veterans of war, but also to those missing in action, and the controversy surrounding failed attempts to locate and recover servicemen who may have been left behind in foreign conflicts.

Before getting into serious matters, we do pay a dutiful nod to one of our many imitators, the infamous "Round Table" Secret Society, just before diving briefly through a portal into a hellish alternate dimension where the Middle Theory Podcast is hosted by a second-rate ghost-hunting club.

We also examine a report of a weird incident at what some claim is a secretive, well-guarded "FEMA Prison," in addition to analyzing the general culture of conspiracy surrounding such ideas. This includes discussion of many of the key players in the conspiracy and patriot movements, ranging from William Cooper and Alex Jones, to stories discussed around that time by radio host Art Bell on his late night broadcasts. Then turning our attention to a different radio host accused of pedaling "conspiracies," we examine pundit Ed Shultz's treatment of Glenn Beck and a recent disclosure of extensive health concerns Beck has faced over the last several years. Is it right to politicize the suffering someone (like Beck and his family) have undergone?

Then we turn our attention to another aggravating issue... the continued assertions that a recent FBI fact sheet proves there were no deaths at the Sandy Hook shooting. Quite the contrary, McNonymous and the Mouthy Doctor present Middle Theory's recent findings, which actually do point to data which can account for the apparent "anomaly."

Finally, we present our complete examination of the POW/MIA issue, and how there have been elements of confirmed secrecy, as well as suspected instances where career politicians and others have contributed to cover-ups which benefited their careers. Among the key players we examine are patriot Bo Gritz and his post-service rescue attempts, which according to a former Delta Force operative, may have contributed to the thwarting of two attempts to rescue POWs in the early 1980s. This allowed numerous agencies involved with the oversights to save face for decades. Were there indeed prisoners of war who were left behind following the Vietnam War, and who managed to go unreported thanks to circumstances, and perhaps certain operations carried out by government agencies?

The Fifth of November arrives again, and on this momentous and historical holiday, we examine the results of the mid-term election, which was, quoting President Obama, "a good night for Republicans." That, in fact, may be the understatement of his presidency... and it has Ron Paul worried, among others.

We also examine reports of a woman, possibly suffering mental distress, who attempted to claim the lives of her children--and herself--by driving off a cliff. The reason: the "Illuminati" had been chasing her, she said. Also of interest, Glenn Greenwald says he had "another source" apart from Edward Snowden.

However, with the memory of this singular date, we waste little time in shifting our focus over to a history of treasonous acts in history. Beginning with the famous gunpowder plot, we move along to discussion of the Declaration of Independence itself, as well as the famous traitor Benedict Arnold. A lesser known (though highly strange) conspiracy deals with Aaron Burr's apparent plans to become king of the lands west of the colonies in the early 1800s. We then look at what is arguably the most famous assassination attempt on Adolf Hitler, portrayed in the movie "Valkyrie" starring Tom Cruise. Then we move along to discussion of the Korean War, and allegations of a conspiracy against the U.S., as alleged by general MacArthur who was relieved from duties for his views on an eminent war with Communist China. Which leads us, finally, to Vietnam, and a subject which will no doubt be one for future discussion on the podcast...
