  • 11.02.14. Dark Days of Terror: The Halloween Conspiracy

As listeners of Middle Theory know, we have long taken pains to expose the reality behind the multitude of conspiratorial holidays celebrated in the western world... all of them, arguably, intended to pay testament to some devilish deity or mock-ritual, the details of which are only known in the truest sense to members of the Illuminati (or, in some instances, members of the elite squid-like international entity we call The World's Most Secret Society). But there is one holiday celebrated in America that harbors more evil, more insidious influence from the global elite, and more true terror than any other: Halloween.

Well, at least according to some... we begin our foray into the "discovery" by the alternative media that Halloween is actually a mass Satanic ritual, an idea espoused by various outlets which seem to enjoy pandering to the paranoid among us. We also take a look at the amount of spending associated with the holiday, underground Halloween parties in Beijing that led to warnings of arrest for those donning scary costumes, and the way the holiday has changed over the years. Rounding out the discussion, we consider a number of the most horrifying novels ever penned, courtesy of the talented (and humorous) Guy N. Smith, who we feel should be awarded an honorary membership in The World's Most Secret Society due to his authorship of an impressive library of titles over the years that include books about giant, intelligent, killer crabs.

Other subjects discussed include not one, but two exploding spacecraft over the last week, new potential leads in the continued search for missing pilot Amelia Earhart, more Ebola updates and the criteria for preventing public panic, and much more.

  • 10.24.14. The Walken Dead, Wild People, and Ebola Conspiracies

We're getting geared up for Halloween, and in doing so, we here at Middle Theory begin our foray into media conspiracies this week with an acknowledgement of how the horror and suspense genres have been influenced by that classic and superlative gift of an actor known to the world as Christopher Walken, before delving into tales of the wild "holler people" of West Virginia. Then it's down to news as we look at the recent shootings in Canada, as well as academic fraud being exposed at the University of North Carolina.

This week's big story, however, is the continuing saga of ebola, and its spread around the globe. Some of the conspiracy theories are, in fact, justifiable (or so says the New York Times, after a fashion), and writing for the HuffPo, medical writer Abby Norman gives one of the best breakdowns of the hazmat suit dilemmas health workers may face, along with how bodily fluids may "aerosolize" and carry ebola further from the physical proximity that is purportedly required to move the disease to a new host.

The latest news that a New York doctor has tested positive for ebola has served as it's inauguration to the Big Apple (and the issuance a new Twitter, #ebolwling), while discussion of the various vaccines in the works leads us into an examination of the economics underlying the situation. But wait, there's more... as the deals are being entered with funding for the ebola vaccines, are we already seeing profit potentials being handed to inside "favorites" by various medical companies, who themselves have somewhat tarnished backgrounds? We think so...

Finally, Sweden is searching for a USO... and while they aren't calling it a submarine, it's certainly piqued the interest of international news, following the purported interception of a Russian language distress call emanating from territory waters. What's going on beneath the surface of this mess?

It's not easy being green... or being superlatives (like Christopher Walken) who also operate the World's Most Secret Society. Happy Halloween to all, and just remember as you're laying down to rest tonight that nightmares are dreams too... don't discriminate.

  • 10.09.14. Identity Theft, Illuminati, and Ideology Wars

Illuminati who? Apparently, some so-called ancient multi-national secret society has been making headlines recently, with claims from a highly reputable source that the group plans to strike again in November, this time with a plot that includes Bitcoins, 3D printing and 'Smart Dust'... whatever the hell that's supposed to be. Whomever these impostors are, they aren't fooling the members of that most erudite and secretive fraternal order that Middle Theory listeners know all-too-well. Has our secret society fallen victim to an attempt at identity theft? More on that subject later...

Now, do you think there's an ebola conspiracy? Well apparently health officials in Texas are wording their press releases in obvious anticipation of this... so what are we to make of an official statement presented in the Lone Star State that compares ebola "conspiracies" with the Kennedy assassination? If you think that's weird, wait until you hear about actors with fake ebola symptoms showing up in New York emergency rooms...

Stephen Collins, actor who played a famous Pastor-dad on TV's 'Seventh Heaven' has become the target of molestation inquiry, while his wife alleges that he had a "secret life," and that there may have been other victims. Gunshots heard at the actor's home prompted a police investigation soon afterward, and while no deaths were reported, one of the co-stars of the program, Sarah Goldberg, did actually die, coincidentally, at age 40.

The hot story this week: many of us are aware of all the concerns about Identity Theft, but what happens when the government decides it's kosher to impersonate somebody in an online forum, such as Facebook? That's precisely what happened to Sondra Prince, whose phone was confiscated in relation to her suspected involvement with heroine trafficking, which was then used to obtain photos (some of them rather racy, others depicting minors) which were posted to a phony Facebook page DEA agents used to impersonate her. That's almost as disconcerting as the fact that, as most of us know already, the NSA's massive surveillance programs are essentially conducted without any Congressional oversight.

In other news, a German journalist has come forward and says he was supported by the CIA, which encourages media to spread anti-Russian propaganda. Also, in North Korea rumors of Kim Jong Un being overthrown are all the rage (Update: And as had been discussed on the show, Kim Jong Un

  • 9.18.14. Propaganda, Ebola, and Missing Person Cases

This week, the gents celebrate the coming of the fall season over a Dad Juice as Micah describes his recent visit to the brand new east-coast facility of Sierra Nevada Brewing Company. Then getting right to the news, wild fires rage in Northern California that are roughly five-times the size of Manhattan Island... a suspect is in custody, and being held on a $10 million bail for "maliciously" starting the blaze.

Elsewhere, a terror threat is brewing, and to show how close to home it may have been, Australian authorities numbering more than 800 men fought to stop a two man terror plot today in Australia, where Islamic State representatives were believed to have been planning horrific, public beheadings. Meanwhile, a new video appearing online depicts captured British journalist John Cantlie, who has offered some rather... unique... perspectives on the situation with ISIL. Micah and Chris give their immediate breakdown of the video, and speculate about the implications. Is this coercion, propaganda, or the most bizarre "public relations" campaign we've ever seen?

Additionally, there are more reports on these bogus "cell phone towers" that trick your phone into connecting to their network, allowing easy access to surveillance of the general populace. Elsewhere, our latest ebola updates indicate that the virus-related deaths have doubled in the last month, as reported by the New York Times.

Then we take things into the twilight realm of the unsettling, as we examine reports of strange disappearances that have occurred for centuries, where individuals seem to have simply walked off the face of planet Earth, never to be seen again. Where do they go, and are there more sinister forces at work here? Among cases examined are Australian Prime Minister who disappeared, as well as an earlier case where three children vanished from a beach in mid afternoon. Then we bring the discussion to the States with Judge Crater's mysterious disappearance from the Big Apple, and then the mysterious vanishing acts of Andrew Carnegie Whitfield, Michael Rockefeller, and finally, Dennis Lloyd Martin, a young boy who vanished under very eerie circumstances in 1969 only an hour from the headquarters of The World's Most Secret Society.

Wrapping things up, McNonymous examines more abuse cases involving ethics in the NFL with the Adrian Peterson scandal, and a final disturbing word allegedly from Vladimir Putin, who privately threatened to

  • 9.11.14. The Return: 9/11 Thirteen Years Later

A mysterious distress signal is detected from the Boötes constellation near the star Arcturus, prompting an emergency rescue mission where an old friend, in the company of a giant, flying alien jellyfish, go in search of a mysterious--and missing--man called McNONYMOUS.

    We have returned.

The long awaited return of Middle Theory launches into the midst of a media fray on the thirteenth anniversary of the greatest terrorist attack on American Soil. In the news, along with remembrance of the 9-11-01 attacks, is discussion of a new video that offers damning evidence in the shooting of Michael Brown, as well as a shocking verdict now expected in the Oscar Pistorius case. We then turn our attention to the Ray Rice scandal, and not only the fact that Congress is discussing intervention, but also that former FBI Director Robert Mueller III will be investigating allegations that the NFL has known all along what really happened on the elevator that night.

The big story involves President Barack Obama's recent speech on the eve of 9-11-13, and discussion of the strategy his administration is planning to employ against the growing threat of ISIS (ISIL) in the Middle East, and the strange bedfellows that emerge especially with regard to Syria, and existent problems with assisting rebels who, as has been widely discussed previously, could include radicalized Muslim individuals and groups. America is looking at a very shaky situation in the Middle East... brave new world, indeed.

Finally wrapping things up, has the mystery of Jack the Ripper finally been solved? This is what one British author thinks... but here in the Middle, we're still skeptical.

Lastly, did you like this episode? We're very glad to have rescued McNonymous, and to be here providing you views from the radical center. • 3.17.14. Saint Patty’s Day and Missing Planes

Happy Saint Patty's Day, all you wee dandy Dubliners out there! We've missed a few weeks here and there lately... and in doing so, we've missed spending time with our fellow society members. And in that time we've spent away, we've also learned that we weren't the only ones missing: Malaysian Airlines flight MH370 also managed to vanish into thin air, with no conclusive leads to-date as to its whereabouts.

We take the airwaves with Guinness in hand, and while drinking our traditional Dad Juice of the day, we take a look at the latest in the news. The British Daily Mail has offered several possibilities regarding the missing MH370... as of last week, noting that a group of 20 defense tech experts on board (confirmed by the Wall Street Journal and other sources) could have been targets of “electronic warfare.” Other theories ranged from a bomb detonating while plane flew over the Malaysian jungle, to what were described as “aeronautical black holes” which would have caused the plane to seemingly vanish, while presenting equal resistance to aerial searches.

So far, everything from “phantom calls” to “mystery passengers” boarding with IDs obtained via a “stolen passport syndicate" have been proposed... the latest is that Australian sources describe a possible sighting of wreckage, while CNN pundits are questioning the legitimacy of whether or not a black hole could have swallowed the plane... seriously.

But what Saint Patty's Day celebration would be complete without a controversy? That's our job as Members of the Machiavellian order known as The World's Most Secret Society, and hence, we must warn you: beware the Irish conspiracy! You think we're kidding, huh? Well, we are, for the most part... but it's still worth giving this week's show a listen to learn more about all this madness.

  • 03.03.14. Crimea Calling: Ukraine Protests and Pitfalls

It's something members of The World's Most Secret Society had been conversing about for months... and with the present violence that had erupted around the Euroamaiden protest movement in the Ukraine, the ongoing crisis in Crimea takes center stage on this week's edition of Middle Theory.

One week after Yanukovych was ousted from power, the Ukraine may be on the verge of war with Russia, as the Big Red Bear demands surrender of Crimean forces. The officiall deadline for surrender was 10pm EST on March 3, and during the live program on Monday night, McNonymous and the Mouth examined news as it happened, with vague reports concerning activity in the early morning hours afoot in Crimea. U.S. response to Russia's actions had been condemning, with warnings of sanctions and even suspension of Russia’s G8 membership.

And on Wall Street, the Dow drops 100 points in regard to Ukraine fears, while conservative pundits ask whether Sarah Palin and Mitt Romney "predicted" the rise of Russian aggression that may spearhead a new Cold War... or not.

With all this heavy-talk, it's good to grace Der Gople with a few "Lolololols of the Week": A Father who won an $80,000 agism lawsuit later had the court rescind the order, after his daughter was caught bragging about the victory on Facebook. Meanwhile, would you eat the products of this Biotech/Sausage startup, set to begin growing celebrity tissue samples for use in meat for custom charcuterie? Here at Middle Theory, the M & M say not just no, but hell no, you goddam cannibals.

And finally, 100 days from the World Cup, the odds are out: USA is 100/1 to win at all, while Brazil is 3/1. Where do your favorite teams fall in the list?

  • 02.17.14. President’s Day: The Holiday That Doesn’t Exist

Are cats alien spies? It may very well be the mother of all conspiracies... unless you consider how today's broadcast falls on the same day as a holiday that doesn't exist. More on that in a moment... but first, the story of Iranian naval forces moving toward U.S. Maritime borders has attracted our attention, as well as the UN Commission of Inquiry on Human Rights in North Korea revealing crimes against humanity and ethnic cleansing in South Sudan.

Following the serious discussion of these aforementioned topics in the news today, we shift our focus to the date in question, and ask, "isn't there something just a little strange about President’s Day?" Oh yeah… how about that part about how “President’s Day” doesn’t even exist? Meanwhile, Washington editor of the CSM chimes in on the “myth” of President’s Day, and even evokes discussion of (you guessed it!) a corporate conspiracy... meanwhile, the myth didn't deter GROUPON from launching an odd promotion featuring Alexander Hamilton, who wasn’t even a president.

Finally, shifting our focus to our current commander in chief, the "Son of God" producers have decided to cut the Satanic “Obama lookalike” out of their film. For more, World Net Daily delves beyond conspiracy and into the realm of Biblical plagues, as they examine President Obama as "Lord of the Flies". That one's just a little silly... even for a Middle Theory show that opened discussing alien cat spies.

Finally, in our last President’s Day installment, Barack Obama tells former NBA star Charles Barkley that Obamacare is “just a part of growing up."

Middle Theory is growing up too, and we want you to be a part of it. Tell folks where they can find us online, and help spread the word from the Middle ground to potential new listeners. We also invite you to consider making a small donation to the program, or even just sending along feedback or a news story by emailing us.

  • 02.14.14. Valentines Day: Roses, Chocolates, and Gender Ambiguity

This week, the SENTINELS known as The Mouth and McNonymous explore the strange world of gender identity (according to Facebook, that is), and how it's all related to that most dark and semi-sweet of holidays, the lover's day itself, Valentine's Day.

Did you hear the one about the (Georgia) Sheriff who canceled the holiday... due to bad weather? And how about a Valentine’s Day Jail Break, where one inmate escaped... to see his sweetheart? Arguably, the most heart-warming story this year involves the husband who gave his wife a life-saving kidney transplant on Valentines Day.

We also discuss Michio Kaku talking with Charlie Rose about “instabilities” causing extreme cold temps, as McNonymous does a haggard impersonation of Mr. Rose that's equally as bad as Micah's attempts to speak in general this week, as he recovers from a chest cold. Speaking of weird weather stories, did you hear the one about the 800-pound snowball that crashed through a college dorm wall?

Also, what's up with the U.S. Army building a fake city in Virginia, as Feds are concerned that drug cartels moving into Colorado?

We want to thank Tom Lesinewski, Betty June Farkas, Angie Tanguay, and Dan "The Magi" Bonfiglio for sending some "Donates" along this week. If you'd like to join the ranks of the The World's Most Secret Society, consider sending us a small amount so we can provide all we do at no cost... and maybe afford a hot cuppa Cowboy Juice on the side.

  • 02.03.14. Big Game, Obama vs O’Reilly, and Hoffman RIP

An unprecedented day for news coincided with this year’s match between the Seattle Seahawks and the Denver Broncos, where President Obama gave one of the most interesting interviews of his presidency with Fox News commentator Bill O’Reilly. Meanwhile, family, friends, and admirers mourn the loss of actor Philip Seymour Hoffman, who died from a presumed drug overdose in his New York apartment.

We'll also examine the weird story of a man who was arrested in a plot to slay George W. Bush, in addition to beginning a relationship with his daughter, along with that of a man who claims he drifted in the Pacific for 13 months. Meanwhile, Dylan Farrow launches an eloquent attack against her presumed predator of yesteryear, Woody Allen, and Allen's spokesperson fires back, promising Allen himself will respond soon.

Finally, comedian Mark Dice plays a trick on students at a California college, asking them to sign a petition to have gun owners executed in concentration camps. Were they even listening to what he was saying?

Consider helping us out with a donation if you like the content you hear each week on Middle Theory. You can also leave us some positive feedback on iTunes, follow us on Twitter, or just send us an email... we appreciate everyone's support, as always. :)
