  • 1.27.14. Grammys Galore and State of the Union Pre-Game

Well, it's good to know that the Grammys are now apparently a vehicle for political speech. The Mouth and McNonymous begin this week's program commenting on the extremely frigid "polar plunger" that's about to overtake the world (well, parts of the U.S., at least), and then after proclaiming support for equal rights and same sex marriages, ask nonetheless why a performance aimed at showcasing musical talent seems to have become a vehicle for political speech. Does everything have to be politicized in this way? Oh... wait, actually it does. This is America in the 21st century, after all. Maybe we should all just start mining for Bitcoins and forget about it... who knows.

That said, the subject of politicization also comes up with regard to the President's address tonight, which is expected to touch on income inequality, climate change, minimum wage laws, immigration, and of course, President Barack Obama's willingness to overstep Congress and just do as he and his administration sees fit (something that just seems entirely too familiar... but we digress). Finally, we also take a look at how Anonymous have become the latest critics of the 2014 Brazil World Cup. And don't forget to take a look at the most Orwellian text message ever sent while you're at it...

Special thanks to Dan the Magi, Angie, Tony, and Betty June for supporting the program recently. You can support Middle Theory with a donation of any amount, which thus grants you access to the World's Most Secret Society. You know it's the right thing to do... and we know you're already a big fan of the Mach Man. It's time to take it to the next level.

  • 01.20.14. Saturnian Cults and Martin Luther King Day

This week on Middle Theory, our heroes return to discover they have been fingered by David Icke's followers for their involvement in a dark conspiracy stemming back to Machiavelli's famous political writings, and a presumed Saturnian death-cult. Truth, as they say, is often stranger than fiction... but not in this case. We still got a laugh out of it.

In addition to our homage to Dr. Martin Luther King, his life and legacy, and the "human side" of the man and his nonviolent activism, we also discuss the recent setting of the Doomsday clock, proper deserts to serve with steak and spinach at the Vatican, U.S. secret deals with a Mexican cartels, an interview with Greg Howard on sports shenanigans, and much more... visit our show notes page for a complete list of subjects on the table.

Special thanks to Angie Tanguay and Betty June Farkas for their recent donations, and hereby becoming the latest inductees into the World's Most Secret Society. Your support means the world to us... and we're not talking about planet Saturn.

If you enjoy the program, please consider joining our supporters by sending us a small donation. You can help us provide what we do, and provide more of it, by doing so... which helps us keep giving you what we do free of charge.

  • 01.07.14. Senators, Sanctions, and Sex Assaults in the Military

It's cold out there... DAMNED cold... just about everywhere. So come sit by the fire, and warm up with a review of some of the hot topics trending in the news as The Mouth, Mr. McNonymous, and our favorite familiar, the enigmatic flying jellyfish Der Gople, launch into another year of insightful and investigative podcasting greatness madness.

So despite the recent NYT article that maintains the Benghazi attack of 2012 was not linked with al Qaeda, is there a person of interest, believed to be in Egypt, which the United Nations maintains DID have such a connection? Meanwhile, world leaders reach a deal with Iran to curb nuclear development, maybe... and then U.S. Senate introduces resolution turning the deal into a threat, as Senators defy the White House Proposal on new sanctions (you can find text of the new Senate resolution here). And who is the pro-Iran “Shadow Lobby” that has launched a bid to stop the sanctions? The plot thickens...

Getting serious for a change, a discussion of new developments in the Steubenville Rape Scandal leads us into the darker discussion of cases involving not only sexual assault in the military, but also mysterious deaths and the potential for cover ups. Cases include the death of Lavena Johnson,  Gloria Davis, and the prevalence of male rape in the military. It all just goes to show, there doesn't have to be a UFO crash for the military to be involved in a cover up.

Finally, in our search for ancient references to various kinds of adult beverages (AKA "Juices"), what weird act led to the arrest of a man in India? And what did deciphering the most ancient Hebrew engraving ever found teach us about "Mom Juice"?

Support the show today, and make a donation to Middle Theory. We will pray for gelatinous Gople blessings for you in the meantime, and thank you in advance.

After all, we here at Middle Theory could use a vacation... but how would we ever find time? Wait, I know! We'll just run for President... that might do it!

  • 12.31.13. Eve at Noon, Part Deux: 2013 in Review

Two weeks in a row, significant holiday "eves" have fallen on broadcast Tuesdays. Hence, we celebrate among society members and laymen alike the very best of 2013 with a sequel to last week's "Eve in the Morn" with part deux, "Eve at Noon."

In addition to reviewing some of 2013's top stories in the news, we look at a Wisconsin cop gets minimal penalty for fingering suspect’s anuses, a Hispanic teen in Durham who became the third minority to commit suicide in police custody in recent months, and the now infamous Obamacare “Pajamaboy”, who is a self-described “Liberal Fuck”.

Benghazi is also back in the news, following a series of NYT articles that have renewed debate over Benghazi scandal (or not... or maybe so... we're kind of confused on that one, like everyone apparently is). MSNBC Weighs in on NYT piece, attacks “Conservative Conspiracy Theories”, and an ex-CIA Analyst rips into the bias he perceives in the NYT's Benghazi article.

Let's kick off 2014 with a bang... uncork that champagne, and while you're pouring a glass, consider sending your support by making a donation to Middle Theory. You can also follow us on Twitter, Like us on Facebook, and email us at [email protected].

We want to thank everyone for their support, and the camaraderie we share in bringing you the best independent news and analysis, with less of the bias, each week. All our best to you, and here's to big, beautiful things in the coming year. We love big beautiful things.

  • 12.24.13. Eve in the Morn: Christmas Eve and the Santa Conspiracy

He represents the most profitable annual holiday, and embodies the spirit of togetherness, good will, and giving at Christmas. While belief in the jolly old saint has diminished in recent years, he, like some forsaken lord of the nether realm whose shadow spreads far enough to cast a darkness over all the land, has returned, and captured American consumerism in his icy grip.

The roots of one of the most dangerous conspiracies of our time stares us in the eye, and much like the NSA, he makes lists, checks them twice, and spies if he has to, whether we're naughty or nice. But while the NSA can "enter" your home through your computers and mobile devices, they don't come down your chimney once a year like HE does. This week, we examine the Santa Conspiracy, and the way that the red-clad (communist?) immortal from the North lends himself to everything from secularism in America, to becoming poster-child for spy agencies, the abortion industry, public drunkenness, repairs having to be made aboard the ISS, the scourge of racism, military psy-ops and misappropriation of taxpayer dollars, and much more.

Upon listening to this week's edition of Middle Theory, you may think twice before you leave cookies and milk waiting on the nightstand this Christmas Eve...

Also discussed this week: Insurance shoppers granted Christmas extensions with continuing Obamacare problems, and new studies that show how alcohol can boost your immune system. Drink  DAD JUICE to your health this Christmas... but remember, all things in moderation.

Thanks to Daniel Bonfiglio and Graham Stanton for sponsoring the show with donations this week. Become a sponsor, and become a member of The World's Most Secret Society by donating to Middle Theory today.

  • 12.18.13. Cover Ups, Missing Spies, and the United States of Conspiracy

If one were to suggest that there are still questions that remain regarding the September 2001 terrorist attacks, they would be called a conspiracy theorist. If you were to go so far as to suggest that there was an obvious cover-up involved, which withheld information from the public at large that made clear connections between the attacks and a planned, state-sponsored act of war, some would call you delusional.

That's not what several members of Congress think, along with a handful of others who have read a 72,000 word redacted portion of a classified document which seems to provide what has been called "incontrovertible evidence" linking Saudi involvement with the 9/11 attacks. Why is this information still being withheld, and why didn't any of it make its way to the 9/11 Commission Report?

We also take a look at whether there could be another Edward Snowden, as well as Snowden’s Open Letter to Brazil, the CIA “Lost Spy” Scandal, and how it may point to cooperation between media and government intelligence groups, riots and looting taking place in Argentina while police are on strike, and much more.

Finally, McNonymous observes that Putin and Yukanovych have made a $15 B deal that brings Ukraine officially back into the Russian fold... is the Big Red Bear awakening from it's Cold winter slumber?

This series of show notes and commentary were written on our trusty Texas Instruments desktop computer, circa 1976. They were then exported directly to cassette tape, and then somehow transferred into a useable format afterward by pure intervention from Der Gople's divine gelatinous magic. You can help Middle Theory afford modern word processing software by supporting the program. Consider making a small donation to the podcast and help us bring you more of what you enjoy hearing from us each week. As always, you're a Prince, and we love ya mucho.

  • 12.10.13. Spy Games: They’re Watching You Role Play!

This week on Middle Theory, The Mouth and McNonymous kick off with a discussion about the shorthand language of The World's Most Secret Society, as well as winter-proof cockroaches in New York, and why their most unique element is their genitalia. Then on to serious matters, we observe that the Obama Administration has changed their story about Barack's uncle, with whom he lived for three weeks decades ago. Then we turn out attention to Edward Snowden, Guardian's "Man of the Year 2013" for the second year in a row... and speaking of Snowden's current eastern residence, we look at fallout in Kiev that transpired over the weekend, which led to the ceremonial toppling of a Lenin statue.

Our Big Story this week involves how intelligence agency spies are infiltrating Second Life and World of Warcraft to spy on you... but certainly not to play online RPGs while on the clock. We also tip our battlefield helmets to the new Legendary President of Kosovo’s Satirical Political Party. But before we wrap things up, it's LA Confidential in real life, with the arrest of 18 Sheriff's Deputies in conjunction with a conspiracy taking place among Los Angeles law enforcement.

Then again, it's probably just another case of “No Conspiracy Theory”, isn't it?

Special thanks to Kathy and Cathy, our latest inductees into The World's Most Secret Society, whose kind donations bought The Mouth and Mr. McNonymous enough coffee to make it through another edition of the program. If you love coffee as much as we do, consider donating to the Cowboy Juice Fund and support Middle Theory.

  • 12.03.13. Game Time: Secrets, Mysteries, and World Cup 2014

This week on Middle Theory, we kick things off with a discussion about the Internet Mystery that has the world baffled: For the past two years, a mysterious online organization has been setting the world's finest code-breakers a strange series of problems... but to what end? Then it's on to the terrifyingly simple code used for access to Cold War-era nuclear launch devices... was this bogus, or brilliant? And finally, in the early years after 9/11, the CIA turned some Guantanamo Bay prisoners into double agents then sent them home to help the U.S. kill terrorists.

Then, in anticipation of the FIFA World Cup Draw which will take place later this week, Mr. McNonymous shares his thoughts about the world's most popular game of sport, and spends a segment looking at the implications regarding the 2014 World Cup, as well as its host country of Brazil.

This week's edition of Middle Theory is sponsored by... well, listeners like you. Please help us out by supporting the cause and making a donation to the program.

  • 11.26.13. Creeping Conspiracy in the Entertainment Industry

This week, the Mouth and McNonymous delve into the dark side of the music industry, and the possibility that there are financial elements at stake... but could they relate to private industry as well? Such were the allegations made by an anonymous letter regarding secret meetings linking the music industry and private prisons; Mr. McNonymous points out that there are CCA stock charts available for this, as well as information regarding the MILLIONS drawn from the prison system annually (note crime statistics for the period in comparison). Is there a connection to be made?

We also discuss the officer who sexually assaulted a 19-year-old woman... DURING a traffic stop, the drunk man who paraded his naked wife (also drunk, and passed out) in front of a camera broadcasting from his Playstation 4, and perhaps the most atrocious portion of the show, the idea that holiday cocktails might be PRE-BOTTLED, along with the like of CANNED WINE. What the HELL is our world coming to?

  • 11.19.13. The JFK Assassination: Fear and Fascination Turns Fifty

This week marks the 50th anniversary of the assassination of U.S. President John F. Kennedy, and following a healthy amount of analysis of news regarding Edward Snowden's possible role as a double-agent or NSA mole, the death of an MI6 agent found in padlocked sports bag ruled “accident”, and the ongoing sexual misconduct of Secret Service agents in 17 countries, we take a look at the history of the Kennedy Assassination, media treatment of "conspiracy theories," alternative scenarios less-often discussed, and actual evidence which was omitted from The Warren Commission report.

More information regarding stories can be found on our show notes page... and to send along feedback, email us here. Follow Middle Theory on Twitter too... this is highly recommended, and may even be vital for some.
