On this episode of The Midnight Special, your host Ai-Ling debuts her new series ‘Musicians in Kitchens’ where she visits the home of a local musician and chats to them about food and music while they cook their favourite dish.
Her first guest is Adam Trainer.
Adam Trainer has been making music in Perth in various indie and experimental rock bands since the early to mid 2000s, including Radarmaker, Polaroid Ghost and The Ghost of 29 Megacycles. In 2010 he began a collaboration with Matt Rösner, which brought about the duo Gilded. In 2012, Adam began collaborating with former Radarmaker bandmate Warwick Hall and percussionist Michael Caratti under the name Original Past Life.
Adam Trainer is also a writer and researcher, and has contributed research to a Curtin University project investigating the history of popular music in Western Australia, as well as the development of a Western Australian new music archive at the State Library.
Adam was RTRFM's music director between 2010 and early 2014, and presents on Posted on Wednesday night’s from 7 to 9pm.
