Midnight Wisdom episodes

  • Week 145: After Milan
26.07.2021 unsubscribed from amazon, big deal. Reflecting. Finding reason. Making the better decisions for myself. Reapplying to Vipassana and being cool about it. Meditating, waking up and being at peace with the reality of experience being lived through and could potentially be experienced.

  • Week 143: The moon is a half formed thing
    Recorded 17.07.2021
Time has felt like it's moving quickly. But I am living.
In this episode, close to sleep, I read through the first 5 pages of INTelligence. Minutes 4-30.
Adding in things and reflection on breakups at certain points.
    Renting a boat.
I said, towards the end, that I have no energy to bring the pages together. The 16 pages.
I have the energy for it. That's all I have energy for. It's a beautiful thing. And it's already all together. I just have to make sure the meaning is there, the point is there, in all of it. I can do it.
This must be the place, written in bright neon lights on a green and red background. Now my desktop background. I felt like I should describe it when I listened to this again.
Listening to reflections is a useful thing.
The moon is a half full thing.

  • Week 141: Reflecting, work
I reflect a bit on things close to the end of the day. Now that I do this it’s not a completely wasted day. Let’s love ourselves, learn, and be happy. Winter is a much different time. I do tend to have a dip in active energy in hotter days of summer.

  • Week 140: As of now, I'm not a writer

    Week 140 - a number.

Finished recording Sunday 11:43 PM - I wrote the rest before recording.

I'm being too dreamy and not practical enough. I need to focus on my life, my skills, my capacity and become more capable.

I need to put my life in order, before thinking of writing books that will put the world in order, I took my thinking too far and my current self is always suffering for it. Not able to live and experience life to its fullest as I am where and when I am.

All in the path of learning, and I have learned, about people, my expectation and acting towards work, and very importantly, what I like doing and what I don't like doing, and how I think I can take my learnings to suit myself best and become capable of working in a way that I find good to my standards.

And also, my craft as a writer. I am seeing what it is, what it keeps and what it doesn't, how it opens up new doors to see something new, and to compare voice and states from one day to the next, a week to the next, and it's unbelievable to see how much a state changes within a day or a week.

No longer will I live in a dream world. Not being practical or useful, waiting. As if it's an explosion that will happen and waiting to happen and leaving myself in a state of tension till it happens. That ends now. My internal world is the constant explosion, every day, with who I am and where I am.

I need to be more capable and smarter, make smarter decisions, more acute with my arguments and logic. And as I learn, read, develop my skills and what I'm capable of, my writing will reflect that, it will be able to show more and in more directions and in more thoughts, past or future, layered or unlayered and simplistic.

There is no need to rush completion.

Such is the case with On Writing. I wrote the first draft in 4 days and less, but to really finish it and bring it together completely, I need the space for it and time, or so I tell myself. And it seems like life is opening my direction in a different way, in a different direction. I do not need to a writer. Not now. Far from it.

As of now, I am no longer a writer. I am a man. A man living, exploring, improving, solidifying, and becoming more concrete, “confined” comes as a word in proper form.

    I’ll be learning business intelligence,

I bought 4 books on writing and the perspective of writers in them.

I wish to read 2 hours a day at least, and reflect on my writing.

And when I am in the space to realize that truth, I will seize it, and I will fulfill it completely

  • Week 139: I’m Ok
Recorded Tuesday 22.06.2021 I had to remind myself I’m Ok, while I was writing The Vessels of God. It was therapeutic, as I sat in my reclining Ikea chair. Naming it all. A moment of interruption to listen back. But it’s just about patterns, naming them, feeling like you have to satisfy certain things in yourself before you can move on to something higher. Sometimes it is fine, really. And you need to leave yourself to that. Other times, you do the small things you can to find your strength, then you continue.

  • Week 138: After Greece

    Recorded Friday 18.06.2021 11:50 PM

I start this off with a little Arabic because I feel like it and it is my native tongue, and then I describe my time in Greece and current experiences.

This is one of the longer episodes I do where I go through the different things and feelings that I went through and happened.

Really opened up my creative gates again in its own way.

I think, maybe, the only things I did not mention were how incredible it was that I ran into someone I deemed important in that way, in a trip where a million things happened to get me to be at that point (like asking the attendees at the museum questions about going in or out and really being there at that point then, and also her as well). But you appreciate alignments when they happen and you move in the world as everything is moving, but you try so far as it is possible to move as yourself. To that truth.

I also think peanut butter is an interesting thing to indulge in in general, which is something I have been going through but have not talked about. Not sure if it helps me hit my calorie count or remove the energy that I have because it is such a dense thing that really hits.

Otherwise, I spent yesterday (Saturday) getting high, working out with Johannes and Viktor online "TAKE OFF YOUR SHIRT KHALID, RIGHT NOW", catching up with my childhood friend Deena about love topics, guys and girls, religious people and hiking, I watched half of Elite season 4 (which helps me brush on my Spanish like crazy) and found it interesting how they managed to continue writing this stuff with the characters. All in all a great day, would have been great to top it all off with a final rendezvous at the gym and done some basic cardio, I had a moment in bed where if I got up I would have been rested as though it was a nap, gone to the gym and back, and continued sleeping. But I'm up early today, and I'm excited and grateful to face the day and be myself.

I will email my boss about alternatives and ideas to do good work, and let us see what happens. The world is happening and I'm here gratefully alive. Let us reach more and more completion. And see the fruits of our being and labor come together and away.
Let us wait on Jude. And let us wait on ourselves to come back with clear vision and will (playful or otherwise) that we can to our writing).

    All the best,
    Khalid
