  • Talk week 126: Qais Akasheh - Purple Vibes

    28th of March 2021.

I spoke to my friend Qais Akasheh yesterday. We caught up and talked about things we're going through recently.

It's the first podcast episode I video record through our laptops and also upload on Youtube.

    Best,

    Khalid

  • Midnight Reading: Morningstar
I spent the night of the 25th reading Morningstar, a fantasy novel by David Gemmel about an unexpected hero whose legend grows completely outside if his control. A thief and a mavrick, and an unexpected friendship with a bard.

  • Week 125: Take care all

    21st of March 2021, 9:35 pm.

We are what we are. What's good for us is what's good for us.

We forget, so we can remember more.

I feel like I remember more. I feel like I've grown.
I respect it, and I respect it again.

This one is for Qais. I love you.

This one is also for my dad. I love you too.

    Take care all.

  • Week 123: Hay Fever

    4th March, Thursday, 2021.

Hay fever is fu***** killing me.

But I'm alive and I'm living.

One thing leads to another, and another leads to that, and in that the space that we are is the space that we'll always be.
Let's try to make that one of peace that doesn't need anything. You move until the pieces align, you adjust, you interact until you find the person who readily accepts your actions.

    Skateboarding.

I just hope she gave me the right number.

    -

A part of me misses talking free form like this, letting all the little points out that I find relevant. Remembering them, redigesting them.

Getting a weight off for another weight to be taken on.

We will always be gaining new experiences, and they will all feel real enough to warrant sharing.

How can you say it all to relate to all the different levels.
You don't, everyone is reading the same words through their own perspectives anyways.

    One magic behind everything.

It is a book on creation.

  • Midnight 122: Expression

Expression is in all. And it's beautiful.

The directions it can take, the regret behind it, the love, and all the emotions in between.

It's in everything, in all. And how sensitive can we be to it?

And which direction can we take it. As we still balance the rest of our lives, our jobs and work and responsibilities, with the real that we know we need to express.

Because expressing the truth inside of us can be argued as the only real reality there is, and everything else, well it's just a passing dream we're all going to forget.

Just like the ages passed and so much of the experience and the knowledge was forgotten.

And here we are, another sense of real. Trying to realize it's own reality.

I hope to contribute to it.

  • Week 122: Letting it all go

I was really okay with letting all go.

But I won't, and I'm not going to.
    Not now.

Recorded Tuesday night, the 23rd of February 2021.

I had felt like I lost my job the night beforehand, and slept in kind. Thinking of the path I'd take if otherwise.

Going to Jordan, where I'd lock myself in a room in a rented house with no internet for 3 months, and write, day and night. Exist only for my writing. And come out if it with what I come out of it.

I accepted that reality on the night of that Monday, and slept with a peace I didn't know in a long time.
I think what I'm really afraid of, when it comes down to it, is to lose the creation that I see in me if I stay and submit to all of this around me. The cycle it puts you in and what it demands from you.

    But what am I saying?

I do feel like.. I tend to burn myself in no good direction when I want to try and create and think about creation as often as I do.

The moments I crave are the moments where I see the thoughts of creation come so easily, the words spoken in a scene and the emotion and feeling behind all of it. Connecting with the narrative already built, and building on to it.

But am I learning in the way that matters these days?
I am learning, always, about myself and the things happening around me. How I cope and deal with my thoughts and the moments and how I move on. And see what I can take to add into myself. But also, very importantly, how I can separate from the whims of the reality I inhabit. The housemates that demand a certain level of attention, and the nights they spend together talking and uselessly indulging. To separate from that and to write into what matters instead. What do I need now versus what would I need later to be in the state of building the thing I need to build the way I build it.

The writers and poets who saw all those things, the missing links between moments and people moving in parallels who know not of what the other is going through. And things collide. Wants emerge, stories begin to be imagined.

It can be a good life.
    With it a pain.

The update is, I haven't lost my job, I spoke with my manager and had a good talk, and I'm glad for what happened.

There's a new found energy there. And I have to live for the here and also the later. As always.

  • Week 121: Food and Balance

The beautiful day of the 21st of February 2021.

I bought Settlers of Catan and Risk today ;) and I'm happy about that.

I trained with Klaus for an hour and half, and I played Assassins Creed Origins for 2.

I talk about food in this one, and exercise. How I've been eating recently and the type of mentality I take when it comes to what enters me and how I use what enters me in what I care about.

It all comes together, and the balance oscillates left and right and up and down, but we keep asking, noting, and doing slight changes so that we're better off today and tomorrow.

Much love to all of you, hope you enjoy and get something out of it.

  • Week 120: Update

I'm keeping up with the workouts and I'm glad for that.

Exercise, and eating well, and balancing everything brings out a different thing in me.

    Let's see.
