The Mustangs have had two weeks to prepare UT Permian Basin, which is coming off its first-ever win over a ranked opponent. Last week, the Falcons defeated No. 16-ranked Texas A&M Kingsville, 29-17. UTPB is the highest-scoring team in the Lone Star Conference with 55.8 points per game and is third in the league, allowing opponents to score just 19.8 points per game. Midwestern State leads the all-time series, 6-1, but the Mustangs know they will be tested Saturday night at 7 p.m., when the two teams meet at Memorial Stadium.
