- Daily MOFA briefing(23 Jun 2025)Spokesperson: Guo JiakunDate: 23 June 2025Duration: 5 min 19 secSTORYLINE:1. China, Russia and Pakistan have reportedly proposed a draft resolution on Iran’s situation at the UN Security Council. Do you have more information? The US attacks on Iran's nuclear facilities seriously violate the purposes and principles of the UN Charter and have exacerbated tensions in the Middle East. The UN Security Council cannot sit idly by. China, Russia, and Pakistan proposed a draft resolution to the UN Security Council calling for an immediate and unconditional ceasefire, protection of civilians, respect for international law and engagement in dialogue and negotiation. Together, we send out the message of justice that reflects the strong call from the international community. We hope that Council members can jointly support the draft resolution and enable the Security Council to play its role in the maintenance of international peace and security.2. The world has actually witnessed a unilateral attack by the United States on a sovereign state, as well as a dangerous and unprecedented attack on a nuclear facility. What is China’s comment on this?Attacking a nuclear facility under the safeguards and supervision of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) is a serious violation of the purposes and principles of the UN Charter and international law. China urges the parties involved in the conflict to prevent further escalation and resolutely avoid the spillover of war, returning to the path of a political solution. China is willing to strengthen communication and coordination with all parties, build consensus, uphold justice, and play a constructive role in restoring peace in the Middle East.3. Recently, we have noted that a temporary flight carrying Chinese citizens evacuated from Iran via Turkmenistan has successfully arrived in China. Could you provide an update on China’s evacuation efforts from Iran and Israel?Acting on the decisions and plans of the Party Central Committee, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, China’s diplomatic missions in Iran and other countries, as well as the Ministry of Transportation and the Civil Aviation Administration and other departments work together for the safe evacuation of 3,125 Chinese nationals from Iran. Among them, there are 10-month-old babies, elderly people in their twilight years, as well as Hong Kong and Taiwan residents. All Chinese citizens in Iran who have the will to evacuate have been evacuated to safe areas. The Chinese government's large-scale, organized evacuation of people in Iran has been completed. At the same time, the Chinese Embassy in Israel has helped to organize the safe departure of more than 500 Chinese citizens from Israel, as well as assisted in the safe relocation of some British, Indian and Polish citizens.During the evacuation process, Iran, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Armenia, Turkey, Iraq, the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Kuwait, Egypt and Jorda...
