An NHS trust has apologised after staff told a wheelchair user she would have to go to a pet shop to be weighed.

Sarah Rennie said that at first she laughed when health bosses in Shropshire advised her to go to Pets at Home because the suggestion was so absurd.

However, she told The Independent it later dawned on her that the situation was not acceptable and showed that “services everyone else can access aren’t possible for disabled people”.

President Donald Trump is skipping the remainder of this year’s Group of Seven summit and returning to Washington early after issuing a dire warning to residents of Iran’s capital.

In response to shouted questions from reporters about why he's leaving the G7 early Trump said, “I have to be back”. Gathering with other leaders for a customary photo ahead of dinner Monday, the president added, “You probably see what I see and I have to be back as soon as I can.”

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt informed reporters late Monday that Trump would be returning to Washington after participating in the G7 “family photo” with other world leaders, with his early departure allowing him to “attend to many important matters.”

Taylor Swift made a surprise visit to patients at a Florida children’s hospital on Thursday (12 June).

The “Fortnight” singer stopped by the Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital in Hollywood before attending the NHL’s Stanley Cup Final with her boyfriend, Travis Kelce.

In a video posted to Instagram, Taylor can be seen introducing herself to a family in a patient room.

“You guys are a gorgeous family,” she gushes.

The singer then asks the patient, Zoe, how she’s feeling before saying she’s, “so sorry for everything you’re going through.”

Taylor gifted the young fans she visited signed copies of her Eras Tour book.

This is the miraculous moment the sole survivor of the Air India crash emerges from the flames of the Boeing wreckage.

More than 270 people were killed when the Air India Boeing 787-8 crashed in Ahmedabad on Thursday (12 June).

New footage has now emerged on social media of British man Vishwas Kumar Ramesh walking out of the crash site.

The video shows Mr Ramesh walking out of flames with phone in his hand as he limps out of the deadly accident.

Locals are seen helping him as black smoke engulfs the sky behind.

Keir Starmer landed an important diplomatic victory when Donald Trump finally confirmed the implementation of the UK/US trade deal.

After “shaking hands” on the deal in a virtual meeting broadcast to the world last month, there had been concerns that Sir Keir still had not got the deal with the US in place.

Mr Trump confirmed the deal was “done” at a brief press conference at the G7 summit in Canada after the two met.
