The UN says Israel's new security processes are preventing vital aid from reaching Palestinians, amid mounting criticism of the Benjamin Netanyahu-led government within Israel.

UN spokesperson Stephane Dujarric said that despite more supplies being dropped off on the Palestinian side of the Kerem Shalom crossing, none have yet reached the starving population.

"Just to make it clear, while more supplies have come into the Gaza Strip, we have not been able to secure the arrival of those supplies into our warehouses and delivery points,” said Ms Dujarric.

The Work and Pensions Secretary will stand firm on Labour’s £5 billion plans for welfare cuts on Wednesday, arguing that reform is needed to make sure the system survives.

Liz Kendall is expected to say there is a “risk” the welfare state would collapse without the proposed changes, which include tightening the eligibility criteria for the main disability benefit in England, the personal independence payment (Pip).

Restricting Pip would slash benefits for about 800,000 people, while the sickness-related element of universal credit is also set to be cut.

Children’s YouTube star Ms. Rachel has made an emotional plea for help for kids in Gaza, as a United Nations official warned that 14,000 babies could starve to death within days if Israel did not end its blockade of the territory.

In a tearful video posted on her Instagram, Ms. Rachel, whose real name is Rachel Accurso, shared an image of an emaciated Palestinian baby while rocking her own newborn Susannah on her arms.

“World leaders, please help this baby. Please look at her. Please, please look at her. Just, please look at her eyes for one minute,” she says in the video.

The US president, who has frequently called out journalists, took it upon himself to give the reporter some career advice.

Speaking to the media after his “beautiful bill” meeting with Republicans on Tuesday (20 May), the NOTUS journalist asked Mr Trump: “Andy Harris said that you didn’t adequately convince enough people to vote for the bill?”

Trump asked the reporter who he worked for and when he replied NOTUS, Trump said: “Who? I don't even know what the hell that is. Get yourself a real job.”
