writer, musician, and music journalist Mike Fiorito, and centers around

UFOs and his newest book, For All We Know.

This wonderfully written short fiction novel explores the transcendent

experiences of one man over the course of his life, and the mechanisms

by which he -- and by extension, all of us -- can access the liminal

world and achieve an expanded state of consciousness.

Rare for a book about UFOs, Fiorito's fictional narrative is powerfully

written, and ambitious in its attempts to communicate the nature of

these experiences in a literary format. It's a beautiful rendering of

episodes many of us have had, but don't necessarily have the language or

permission to embrace.

It explores the use of entheogens as a means to raise consciousness, and

also points out that humanity at this point in its development has

forgotten that simple, and rather mundane, experiences -- like reading a

book or listening to a song -- offer us a way to lift ourselves out of

the crushingly ordinary workaday world and achieve a kind of gnosis.

We also discuss Fiorito's abiding interest in ufology, what he thinks of

recent developments in the fight for disclosure, and how his passion

for the subject has fueled a broader search for spirit and community.
