2 Corinthians 1:9-10, "But we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God which raiseth the dead: 10, Who delivered us from so great a death, and doth deliver: in whom we trust that he will yet deliver us;"
Paul was in a situation that was so deadly he thought he would die. But God intervened for him and brought him out. This taught Paul that he could trust in God who raises the dead.
God gives us a new beginning. Never give up, never give in. Continue to live each day with faith the God who raises the dead. He will be our guide until the end of this life and the beginning of the next. Psalm 48:14.
Heavenly Father, many times I have been at the end of my own strength and ability in life. Many times I have felt like I could not go on any further in life. Yet you reached down into my life and rescued me. You have done this not once but many times. Lord, I give you thanks and praise for delivering me in the past, for delivering me today, and I know you will continue to deliver me in the future. Thank you, Jesus. Amen.
1 Corinthians 15:51-52, "Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, 52, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed."
Some people on the earth when Jesus returns will be transformed instead of dying a natural death. We will be changed. When Jesus appears and God's people are raptured we will be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye. We will be raised up, given a new body, and will be with the Lord forever.
The Bible clearly teaches that believers will be caught up together in the air to meet the Lord in the clouds. 1 Thessalonians 4:17.
Lord, from everything I see happening around me in the world I can't help but think the rapture is not far off. Lord, this is what your people through thousands of years have been waiting for and looking for to. Lord, may your return happen in my generation. May you return and take me to be with you where you are in heaven. In Jesus name. Amen.
1 Corinthians 15:20-22, "But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept. 21, For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. 22, For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive."
Jesus is the first one who received a resurrection body. When Jesus died he had a natural body, a human body. When God raised Jesus from the dead he gave him a new body, a resurrection body. He is the first of this new creation. Believers in Jesus will receive a body like his when they are raised fro the dead.
Jesus is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things he might have the preeminence. Colossians 1:18
Father God, I thank you for raising up your son the Lord Jesus from the dead on the third day. He is the firstfruits. He is the firstborn from the dead. He is the beginning of the new creation. Father, thank you for taking me out of the old creation of Adam, and placing me into the new creation of the Lord Jesus Christ. Thank you, Lord Jesus. Amen.
1 Corinthians 15:12-14, "Now if Christ be preached that he rose from the dead, how say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead? 13, But if there be no resurrection of the dead, then is Christ not risen: 14, And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain."
If the Lord Jesus was not raised from the dead then our faith as Christians has no meaning. The entire faith of the Christian is based upon the fact that Jesus Christ rose from the dead on the third day.
Jesus said that he is the resurrection. John 11:25-26.
Father, thank you for raising your son Jesus Christ from the dead. Lord, I know the resurrection is real. Jesus is the resurrection and the life. I believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and I trust in you Lord to raise me from the dead so that I can live forever with you, oh Lord. Amen.
Romans 10:9, "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved."
This verse clearly teaches us that salvation is by believing with our heart that God raised Jesus from the dead, and also by confessing with our mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord.
The Romans road plan for sharing the gospel: Romans 3:23; Romans 5:8; Romans 6:23; Romans 10:9-10, 13.
Heavenly Father, I confess with my mouth the Lord Jesus, and I believe in my heart that you raised Jesus from the dead. Thank you for saving me, oh God, through your son Jesus Christ. Lord, thank you for washing all of my sins away in the precious blood of Jesus. I thank you for giving me new life in Christ. Amen.
Romans 8:11, "But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you."
The same Holy Spirit who raised Jesus Christ from the dead lives within the believer in Jesus. The Holy Spirit who was active in raising Jesus from the dead will also raise up our mortal bodies and give us eternal life.
Death no longer has power over the believer in Jesus. 1 Corinthians 15:54-58.
Heavenly Father, I am thankful that I will live forever with you. I thank you for eternal life through your son Jesus Christ. I am grateful that you have given me life and that you will raise up this mortal body and transform it into a new body that will live forever with you. Lord, please come quickly and get us. Amen.
Romans 7:4, "Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God."
As Christians we are dead to the law by the body of Christ. Do not be deceived by people who want to subject you to laws, rules, or ordinances. We have been set free from the law so we can serve you in the new way of the Holy Spirit.
The law brings death. The Holy Spirit brings life. Romans 7:6.
Heavenly Father, the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. Thank you, Lord, for delivering me from the letter of the law and giving me grace that I can live by the Holy Spirit. Lord, make my life bear the fruit of the Holy Spirit and bring life to others as well, in Jesus name. Amen.
Romans 6:8-10, "Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him: 9, Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him. 10, For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God."
Death has no more dominion over the Lord. He died once for our sins, but now he lives forever. He lives unto God forever. Also, we died with Christ, and we shall also live with him. We have been sealed by the Holy Spirit unto the day of our redemption.
Death has been defeated forever by the Lord. 1 Corinthians 15:54-57.
Father, thank you for placing me into your son Jesus Christ, for uniting me together with Jesus in death, and burial, and resurrection. Because the Lord died for me then I can live with you forever. Praise your name, Lord Jesus. Thank you, Jesus, for all you have done for me. I love you, Lord. Amen.
Romans 6:4, "Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life."
In baptism we are identifying ourselves with the death, burial, and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ. It is our testimony to the world that we died in Jesus and have raised together with him to a new life. We now walk in a new life, by the power of the Holy Spirit.
If any man is in Christ he is a new creation. 2 Corinthians 5:17.
Heavenly Father, this new life in Christ is a life of being filled with the Holy Spirit. I can do nothing without you, Holy Spirit. I need you every day, all the time. I am helpless without you, Lord. Fill me again today with the Holy Spirit. Thank you, Lord, for raising me up together with you and giving me a new life in Christ.
Romans 4:24-25, "But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead; 25, Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification."
The Lord Jesus was raised from the dead. One of the effects of this was that believers in Jesus receive justification. All of our sins and guilt are washed away because Jesus Christ was raised from the dead. We are not only saved by his death, but by his life as well.
After many offences of men the Lord Jesus came and gave us himself as a free gift for our justification. Romans 5:16.
LORD JESUS, thank you for offering yourself as a sacrifice for all of my sins. I am thankful for the gospel, the good news that you died in my place, you were buried, and you rose again on the third day. You were raised again for my justification. Thank you, heavenly Father. Amen.
