The third hour of the show spends some time discussing Salk's obsession with his own fitness (or lack thereof) and turns into a conversation about when the Mariners should begin the conversation around signing Julio Rodriguez to an extension. Former NFL QB Dan Orlovsky (ESPN) is in town set to cover the Seahawks vs. Bears preseason game and joins Salk to share what he learned after attending the Seahawks practice yesterday and who he would have as the starting QB this season for the team.

If the baseball Gods were doling out punishments to the Angels yesterday, it seems like the football Gods are after Drew Lock today. To make matters worse, Lock went 0-4 in red zone drills while Geno went 3-3. Salk thinks this is the strangest competition ever. ESPN MLB Insider Jeff Passan makes his weekly appearance to talk Mariners and what separates good teams from great ones. Brock Huard immediately follows with more thoughts surrounding the QB competition and the Mariners win in Anaheim.

Salk thinks yesterday was weird one for Seattle sports because just when we thought we had enough chaos... the Mariners add some more craziness by scoring 5 runs in the 9th to beat the Angels 8-2 & set themselves up for a sweep today's afternoon game which Salk is fired up about due to the "Alt-Cast" on YouTube. All of that was all preceded by the boomerang action of Drew Lock who finds himself out w/ COVID before tomorrow's 2nd preseason game AFTER Pete Carroll named him the starter.

SeattleSports.com's newest contributor Joe Fann makes his weekly appearance w/ Salk asking him which QB he believes will be getting 1st team reps at practice today before finally breaking down the insanity of the Mariners/Angels game last night. Seattle Sports legend Dave "The Groz" Grosby was speechless after that game & says the "Dare to Dream Express" Mariners train has left the station. We play an abridged round of 'Take the L' to make sure Phil Nevin, Max Stassi and the Angels team gets their due along with Fernando Tatis, Jr.

Salk says that win last night was not luck - that is what happens when you put pressure on bad teams with speed on the bases followed by hard hit balls that make players force themselves into mistakes. Seahawks rookie WR Dareke Young (7th round draft pick) played his college ball at Lenoir-Rhyne & studied engineering, but it's the way he spoke to Salk that impressed us all much more. Brock Huard makes his daily appearance to discuss the mayhem that took place in Anaheim last night.

Mariners win as chaos ball ensues in the 9th vs the Angels. Salk says the win was great but enjoying the pain of Phil Nevin and Angel's fans is almost better. We learn about a Seahawks WR trade before going 'Around Seattle Sports' to hear what Ray Roberts said (w/ Bump & Stacy) about the Seahawks rookie OL Charles Cross & Abe Lucas followed by what Jon Morosi had to say about a potential Mariners WC playoff pitching rotation during his appearance on Wyman & Bob.
